Boo hoo, the insiders are 0 for Avatar and now they are crying.
Not spinning... Sorry, try again...Spinning like a top, as usual ....
Until very recently, all we had been hearing about Avatarland was that the project's development was very troubled. Some people, including myself, thought that was good news. That is all it was - a positive reaction to the chances for our desired outcome becoming more favorable. But, given what we know about the nature of Disney rumors, no one believed Avatarland's cancellation was a sure thing. It would have unrealistic for anyone, no matter their opinion, to think that way; the number of those who did commit to that position was negligible if not zero.
Do you honestly think that trying to trash people over semantics reflects positively on you? It doesn't; it just makes you look petty.
Actually, plenty of your circle were saying they were glad to hear Avatar was dead... And now that the project is still alive, alive and well may I add, the heads of the haters are slowly getting to the point of exploding...
The day this opens will be a sight to see... Haters lining up with everyone else to go and see what was built and enjoy the land... LoL...
I wouldn't say they opted to make it less spectacular but it was more an issue of execution and Warner/J.K. trusting Creative Studios a bit too much. From what I've seen during the development so far they have learned their lesson. I'm not going to say that Creative isn't still full of incompetent knuckle-heads, along with some very competent and talented individuals, but Warner and J.K. are running the show and have been putting feet to fire to ensure a hgh quality execution.
On top of that understand that FJ was developed under the old Universal/GE regime. Comcast has commited a healthy budget - more than twice phase one's budget - to ensure that the inevitable blunders will be taken care of. They have to because J.K. has already threatened to pull the IP a few times already after some design reviews stating that what she was seeing was not exactly what was pitched initially. She has won every battle so far. They will not risk losing her blessing. One example concerns consumables such as LN2 and steam. UC wanted to cut that budget in half. Instead they were only able to cut about 10 percent. This expansion is about three times the size of the first. Regardless of individual opinions everything I've stated so far will be included. The quantity of props and show sets alone, something you shouldn't be able to complain about with respect to FJ or the existing land, should be enough to get you excited. If you like FJ queue and some of the land details you're sure to love what's coming. There are a few additions s slated for the existing land as well by the way.
I think some people have passive aggressive down to an art form here, that's what I think. Oh, were we talking about something else?
The "C Ticket" (boat?) and the "E Ticket" (sim) are two seperate attractions that partially share a ride building. They are currently the only two attractions on the Pandora menu.
The sim won't "take" you to Pandora, you'll be there as soon as you enter the land.
A coaster was considered, but not approved for reasons that are unclear.
If Cars Land moves ahead as planned, it wl gave its own budget, and isn't dependant on anything that happens with Avatar.

Sounds a lot like The Land...actually....like a direct copy of it. Guess they didn't have to go too far for inspiration...
To be honest, the other day while sitting in the Wonders of Life Pavillion, I thought WDI should use it or The Land as their framework for Pandora. A big, enclosed land with rides branching off... That way the whole place could be light controlled to be dark and could be themed to the forests of Pandora... So yeah, if it sounds like The Land I think they picked a good basis...

If Universal comes out swinging with a highly ambitious Harry Potter Phase II, Transformers, and maybe something else alittle down the road do you think Disney will reconsider the coaster? Or are they more likely to come up with a different attraction OR simply do nothing and hope for the best?
If Disney feels forced to do something beyond the current (rumored) slate for Pandora and Pixar Place, I don't think adding more to Pandora would be their decision. There's plenty of other places where they can do something eye catching if they were so inclined; off hand, I think they'd probably do a clone of the Tron bike coaster in Tomorrowland or put an Indiana Jones ride in DHS (or Adventureland?) before they would add a third attraction to the Pandora lineup.
I agree. I think they need to be a little more aggressive. They should have plans for something major in every park leading up to the 50th...
