Rumor Bye Bye (Tiki) Birdies?

Moana has some of the worst songs ever written for a Disney film. Lin Manuel Miranda should just stick to rap where he belongs.

Really? You're going to make that statement when there's the entire movie of Home On The Range belching out it's songs? Well...

Also Lin Manuel Miranda's style is a mixture of Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, and Soul. To call his style "rap" is an affront to good music.

Now that the rumors of Tiki’s and CBJ’s demise have been shot down, I would like to see the opposite. Bring back the full shows for the 50th. I understand why they were shortened. To move guests through at a quicker rate. If they can’t do that during regular hours, at the risk of giving Disney ideas, run the original shows during DAH. At least it gives paying extra money to stay longer something special to the guest.

Heck I would settle just for a tune up and actually market these things more, rather than just relegating them to "and the other attractions". Give these guys the spotlight as they should.

Lin is a complete hack, sorry to break it to you.

I attempt to sing that (horrible singer lol) but ever since I fund the Star Wars cover that's been stuck in my head. It's like how I prefer Weird Al covers of songs over their originals haha!
OMG...hubby does too...but he likes making up his own lyrics even more! He's ruined so many songs for me because his lyrics aren't exactly kid-friendly and they get stuck in my head! :hilarious:

That's a really strange opinion.

The soundtrack went #2 in the states, is 7x Platinum worldwide, and had a song nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Academy Award (for Song of the Year, at that). Like, I know sales and accolades don't necessarily make something "good," but I don't think I've ever heard anybody say anything negative about the music of Moana.

Also, LMM does a lot more than rap.

It has very pedestrian lyrics (how many times can you rhyme island with island?) and the vocals are terrible. The songs sound like they were written by a child and they talk down to you. I mean if you like mediocre song writing I guess it's great. Y'all have low standards I guess.
How about we just have different tastes than you? No one person's opinion is more valuable than someone else's. For you to say we have "low standards" is ridiculous because I'm sure there are things you like that we would find ludicrous.

Personally for the 50th Id like to see the original show reinstated with fountains and all, like it use to be. I know thats going backwards,,, but thats just my personal wish.
I couldn’t agree more. As far as I’m concerned, the park needs to focus on refurbishments like this if it wants to make it’s 50th Anniversary celebration truly meaningful.

Well, every time I hear Moana belting out those “ohhhhhs” (knows, goes), it’s like listening to nails scraping a chalkboard. It may not bother others much, but my ears don’t like it.

Yes, and I don’t see fixing the fountain as going backwards at all. It shouldn’t have been taken out. I’ve seen video of the Disneyland version and it adds to the beauty of the show. I think what I enjoy most about this attraction is that it starts looking like this abandoned tropical hut, because everything is in the dark, then the birds, flowers, and tikis bring it to life. I wish I could see the original version too.
