Geez, you're actually defending Disney in this? I agree that the criminal did something wrong, but Disney should have taken the precautions so that this wouldn't happen. The disregard for their past is unbelievable. They should take pride in their past accomplishments and properly take care of props that hold a historical significance. Between this and Skippy being ripped apart, I'm actually becoming quite angry at Disney.

Not necessarily defending Disney or happy about the situation. I just think we have to keep things in perspective. Someone went into an off limits area and committed a felony. It’s not like they left Buzzy in an open area like the Santa blowup on my front lawn which someone stole last weekend.

As if that is something new. It is a theme park not Fort Knox.
I see where you're coming from, and they don't have to guard every little thing like it's the US Constitution, but they should have procedures in place so that when an attraction closes, the props that are important are safely removed, and the ones that don't matter are destroyed so they aren't stolen and sold. Buzzy should have been archived in 2007.

I just couldn't muster up a single care in the world for what happens to props from attractions that Disney shuttered. Even if it was a favorite of mine, it's not like I'll ever get to see it personally or benefit from it in any way. Putting it in the archives is basically a nice way of saying it will "rot" in a different location.

I wonder why people put urban exploration in quotes. Like it or not, it’s a thing, and the aims of it are not the same as those of your typical “trespasser”.

Perhaps Buzzy will be returned in a giant stocking like the Como Conservatory Christmas Caper of 2018? https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2018/12/18/como-park-conservatory-finial-stolen/

I say we start a search and rescue for Buzzy. Leave no stone unturned until we find him. Day and night, all of us will work to find our friend. I nominate this guy as the leader of the search team:

Sounds like a great idea... let me know how that works out for you, OK? I'll stay out of it until we actually need that AA for anything again. Just give me a call should a need arise.:joyfull: I can't wait to hear how much ransom money they demand and will they send half of a broken lens frame with the note. The plot just keeps getting thicker and thicker.

Unless they're recycled completely identically (rare, like three caballeros), the animatronics are effectively dead the moment the doors close for the last time.

Buzzy's been dead for a long, long time.

Really folks, do you really think that Disney has even half a care about what happened to an AA that they aren't interested in using ever again? They are interested in who was able to get past their crack security team and have time to mechanically and physically remove it, if that did happen, right under their noses.

Keep all eyes on Brayden in the morning. This case is about to be cracked wide open. Anyone who doesn't believe me currently, we'll see what you think tomorrow
LOL. Brayden is far from a reliable source. He is entertaining though. Also a picture showing he is no longer mounted to his perch doesn’t confirm it is stolen. Maybe it was removed to the archives or central shops.

The preliminary arrest record will be public record soon. Delays because of the holidays. As to the evidence photos... as Monothingie said they are exempt from public record until OCSO has wrapped up their investigation. The big exception is if they think releasing the photos will help solve the case, but I think they are on the right track.
I would be really surprise if they release anything. Disney typically fights for sealment all records relating to their property. An arrest record will show up but don’t expect anything past that.

If there is one thing I have learned, it’s that the kid has sources. Sometimes a puzzle piece or two get mismatched (something that happens to me as well), but his foundation is sturdy.

Sort of shocked this thread hasn’t been killed already based on the last few years around here. I’ll bet anyone a shiny nickel that if video is posted of a Buzzy-less perch here in the morning this thread goes bye-bye.

Though i’d be happy to be wrong.

I’m quite sure Steve just dodges any potential for legal complaints or issues. I’d likely do the same. I’m not casting stones... just making a guess.

As I said, I hope I’m wrong. It’d be nice to be able to follow this whole saga on the only Disney parks site I bother to check out anymore occasionally.
