Bri, the Sox could have beaten the A's with their hands tied behind their backs, they didnt even need Nomar to win this time! Barry Zito hasnt had a win since the begining of June. Rich Harden has the the same problem. Tim Hudson is on the DL along with Eric Chavez. The only ones who really have done much of anything for them have been Mark Mulder, Scott Hattenberg and Eric Byrnes.

Go Devil Rays!

This is the child that will be wearing her DevilRays hat with her Yankee jersey. :brick:

Lil Mermaid...

The Yanks sweeping the Red Sox was probably the best thing that could've happened to the Sox. They knew they got humiliated in the first game...they knew they blew the second one...but that third game is when you saw the Red Sox actually "CARE" about how they play. Even though they lost...that game came down to the "last ups" and that's it. Since that sweep...the Red Sox have played A LOT BETTER (defensively) and now have tied up the Wild Card Race. (30 runs in 3 games I might add). The Rangers/Sox series is coming up...and it's the only other team that has swept the Sox this year...I have a feeling things will be different this time around. The Sox play great at home...because they have their "Nation" behind them...and I wouldn't be surprised if the exact opposite happened in this series. (But, this is the Red Sox...they could very easily get swept again...but the "energy" that is flowing through that clubhouse is so positive right now...I highly doubt that).

GO DEVIL RAYS! :sohappy:

I was just looking at the fact that the Yankees have all but completely squandered their 10 game lead in the AL East and remembered this thread. Those of us who are Red Sox fans knew that the team wouldn't be kept down forever. Now they have won 10 straight and 19 of the last 22. Most of the teams coming up from here out, with the exception of the 6 games left against the Yankees are cream puffs. The Sox still have to be careful not to get overconfident against those teams, but it looks like if the Sox only get the Wild Card it won't be without giving the Yankees a serious run for their money.

GO RED SOX!!!!!

This is the thread that will not die....

Why won't this thread just disappear?

(Ya know, kinda like Seano does whenever the Yankees aren't beating the brains out of whoever they're playing) :D

Kevin Brown breaks his non-pitching hand, Moose isn't pitching the way he can, Vaz is in a slump......but at least El Duque is going strong.

This Yankee slump sounds very similar to the 3 month slump the Sox had going on most of the summer.

I just hope the boys in Red can keep it up and not fall too much for the next couple of months. It's gonna be a great race to the end for all the playoff spots in both leagues!

Oh, and Cubs fans: "Go Nomah!"

Better him costing the Yankees than the Dodgers having kept him and he cost them the playoffs... Yeah, Dodgers are my favorite NL team ;)

I purposely did not want to say anything about the Red Sox on here in fear that I would jinx them...

But, it is kind of ironic that Seano started this thread way back when...and hasn't said anything since
(Reminds me of last year when he was laughing at the Red Sox...and bragging...but didn't say a word and went into hiding when the Marlins beat them)...

Seano when the Yanks are winning:
Seano when the Yanks are losing: :zipit:

Kevin Brown should not play another game in the major league. He put HIMSELF on the DL list...therefore, there should be some breach of contract there and he did not put one care about the other 24 members of that team in his mind.

As for the 22-0 loss...(I can't say that I wasn't laughing at that)...but every team has a bad game...granted, this was a horrible game...but if you lose by 1 run or lose by 100...it still means the same thing.

Having said this...I've never seen people in Boston so pumped for their team as they are right now...even when they came back to win 3 in a row off of Oakland in the playoffs...even when they were going into game 7 of the ALCS...the electricity is just flowing like crazy in Beantown.

Very intelligent response, my friend.

You sure brought me around with that well-crafted display of rebuttal skills. What was I thinking, using facts and reason against smilies and exclamation points? You'll get no more trouble from me, I promise.

Hell, at least he (seano) didn't moon you...which is what he usually does when he disagrees with me.

Yes, Master Seano is a master of debate skills...unless the Yanks are losing. Then he becomes a master of being too busy to post.

Edit: And Bri...no "master debater" jokes, please. Yeah, you were about to, weren't you? :p

Ohhhhh how could I forget this...

Every interview with any player/manager of the Yankees says that they are not caring that we are creeping up behind them...but then Georgie Porgie tries to grab a forfeit off of the Devil Rays because they couldn't get out because of Hurricane Frances...talk about low. If the Yanks were still 10.5 games up...they would care less. (This is the Devil Rays...the Yankees, "the best team in the American League" should be able to take care of the Devil Rays with no problem...why would they need to get a cheap "give me" win?)

Just another reason why I hate the Yankees and their organization...They have talented players...but they're snakes.

And...because everyone (while the Sox were doing bad) were saying...

"Cowboy Up Yours!"...the new shirts say...

"Here we come....and we're bringing Hell with us"
