The Carthay Circle Restaurant will open up with 92 sommeliers, which will apparently be a first time ever, in the entire world. That's a lot of people who know wine very well!

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...ia-adventure-park-to-open-with-92-sommeliers/

Amazing! The Napa Rose used to be the restaurant with the most sommeliers, but they appear to be passing the torch to the Carthay Circle now. (To be fair to the stellar Napa Rose, Carthay Circle is much larger with two complete lounges in addition to the dining room.)

Speaking of lounges, here are new pictures from Disneyland's Press & Publicity department, compliments of the latest Dateline Disneyland on Miceage. This is the main entrance lobby and attached public cocktail lounge on the first floor of the Carthay Circle Theater...

Um.... HELLOOOO! I think I just found my new Disneyland Resort hangout for a cool drink in the heat of the afternoon. Or a warm drink in the chill of the evening. Or a tall drink for when I'm a tad parched. Or for whatever excuse I can come up with to go have a drink here!

There are some GREAT details within this land, from Oswald, Walt, Hollywood Tower Hotel(inside FF&P) a Disney geeks paradise. Once I see this all in person I'll have to decide if this will effectively shut out regular trips to WDW for a while.

I just spent two hours looking at the first 60 pages of that website with all the beautiful photos. I couldn't help but cry. The amount of time, hard work, and dedication that went into this huge project is GREATLY appreciated and I honestly couldn't be more happy and proud of everyone involved. To make things worse, I had my iPod on shuffle and all the old, classic Disney songs kept popping up, the first one being "Someday My Prince Will Come." It was just too perfect. I'm going to finish browsing these lovely photos tomorrow. Thanks a ton for posting, nemo!

The level of craftsmanship and artistry from the East and West coasts is now GLARIGLY apparant. Chris Beatty wishes he and his team had a third of the talent WDI-Glendale has put out. I AM BEYOND WORDS!

More on BVS- Just note there are spoilers ahead.

Mouseinfo has some great coverage of the interior of the Carthay Circle! Showing the other dinning rooms, lounge, and some of the food.
http://www.mouseinfo.com/forums/con...tml?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

Upstairs voices(similar to DL's Main Street and New Orleans Square) you can hear voices from the upper floors of BVS giving them a "lived in feel" a great detail!

From Los Feliz Five and Dime

Lockers

Elysian Arcade, Not a traditonal aracade but covered walkway. I think Disneyland Paris is the only Disney park that has them, DCA's seems a hybrid of store/arcade, it works given the limited amount of room. Hopefully DL will get one someday instead of exposing backstage Main Street.

A few brief thoughts from today's preview event:

It was completely surreal to actually cross over the construction walls and finally step foot inside! In short I was overwhelmed with BVS - it surpassed my high expectations in every way. The Citizens bring the area to life in a very special and humorous way. The new shops and restaurants are all top-notch in design and atmosphere. The trolleys were parked for the day and did not make any trips but it was still great to step aboard and have a look inside.

There are so many special touches and details throughout that really make the land shine.

I can't wait to go back already.

What adorable Cast Members on an adorable new attraction for the Disneyland Resort! (And I rarely say "adorable".)

I can't wait to ride this new trolley the full route from the main entrance to the Tower of Terror. Or, at the end of the night, what a fun way to be taken back to the main entrance from the middle of the park!

I loved the "Citizens". I hope they keep up that level of enthusiasm.

There is so much going on inside Buena Vista St. it's almost impossible to cover in photos or videos. The entrance is full of texture, art, music - details everywhere. A good place to start is today's Dateline Disneyland update which gives a great photographic overview of the land. However it doesn't get into all the details and has minimal interior shots. I am guessing the interior photos will be coming in a second update next week. It's still a great update though and gives you a glimpse of this very special place

The interesting thing is that with the obvious exception of the Carthay Circle Theater's new structure, the entry doors to all these new buildings are in the identical locations as the previous buildings, and the purpose of each facility inside has not changed considerably from being a shop, restaurant, or customer service facility that it was in 2001-2011. This BVS project really just amounts to a re-skinning and re-theme of the existing space and building footprints from 2001. But boy what a difference a few hundred million dollars turning it all into Buena Vista Street makes!

Paging Paul Pressler and Cynthia Harriss... Paging Michael Eisner... Please pick up a white courtesy phone for a reminder of how stupid your decisions were. o_O

Bahahahaha great post TP!!!!!!!!! It's hilarious to look back at what DCA was, I certainly have memories of Sunshine Plaza but BVS looks so much more Disney. Sometimes I think people forget why DCA got the billion dollar investment. That said there are still a few sore spots in the park but DCA is in a much better place now.

Hmm I wonder if Pressler, Harriss or Eisner have ever been back since they left?

You know what fascinates me as a Disney Geek? The invited guest list for big premieres and special events. And I find it very telling that Pressler, Cynthia Harriss and Eisner are never invited back to any Disney event since they left the company. (Or won't show their faces if they ever did merit an invite) All prior Disney Parks execs (Nunis, Ouimet, Lindquist, etc.) show up at grand openings and special events, even for rather minor stuff like the Candlelight Ceremony at Christmastime at Disneyland. I would bet a round of Manhattans at the Carthay Circle Theater Lounge that neither Pressler, Harriss or Eisner will be in attendance for DCA's grand rededication ceremony on the 15th.

I simply can't believe how well Buena Vista Street turned out. What a brilliant stroke to mirror the basic concept 100 yards away at Disneyland on Main Street USA, but execute it radically different by creating an urban 1920's Los Angeles vibe contrasted against the more rural and Midwest vibe of Main Street. It's a ying and yang, but it works brilliantly as each new entrance evokes each other. The fact that they both reflect the experiences of Walt's actual life makes it all the more special. Only in Anaheim could you pull this off!

All that said, Al Lutz has mentioned repeatedly that there are a lot more details and fine furnishings coming to the exteriors and interiors of Buena Vista Street through late June. They are a few weeks behind schedule (after an extremely aggressive 9 month construction schedule), but you can tell that the bones are excellent. I can see that there are still a lot of potted plants, window decor, sidewalk detailing, that isn't installed yet. I fully expect by the 4th of July weekend the smaller details of Buena Vista Street will all be installed and the thing will be utterly fantastic!

That said, I absolutely love that they staffed a uniformed salesfloor hostess to stand at each door to every store during this preview when very few people were in the area. What a nice personal touch. Stay classy Anaheim! :D

Wow, just...unbelievably beautiful! The richness of detail is staggering! I hope the gang behind the DCA makeover knows how much we Disneyphiles admire and appreciate their efforts. This is a park Walt himself would be very proud of, I'm sure. I can't wait to go (probably next fall - gotta save those pennies!) :)
