3 words: Yacht CLUB, CLUB Level!

This trip is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction (of whose going).

Say hello to Zelda!

Now, for anybody wondering why, let me give some quick background info on myself.

I am a Canine trainer/behavioralist and we often train working dogs for various purposes. Zelda is in training to assist a young child for whom she will have several tasks. And before anybody asks for any specific information, please know that it would require me discussing the childs medical information/condition which I will not do. I can however tell you that Zelda will be medical/psd dog.

Zeldas family travels to Disney several times a year. I have trained several dogs that have been to WDW with their families but the training Zelda will require is a bit unique and I need to bring her there myslef to actually train in the parks, resorts, and on the various modes of transportation.

I chose yacht club as a resort because they are pet friendly and even though a service dog would have legal access To any of the resorts I figured this would be easier not only for us, but the cat members of the resort as well since YC is prepared for dogs.

Zelda has already completed her public access training. Those of you here who follow me on Instagram have most likely already seen some videos of her or if you Haven't they are there for your viewing pleasure lol.

I am very excited about this trip as it will provide a lot of new experiences for not only myself but Zelda as well!

We have a total of 6 days booked and we'll be leaving near the end of this month. Updates to come soon!

Then Zelda and I headed out to train!

We took a stroll around the Boardwalk to let her settle in to the sights and sounds.

Went back to the room to shower and grab a bite from the lounge. Pulled pork sliders on sourdough and chicken nuggets

We headed out to Epcot. As we entered, a kid ran up to Zelda and waved his light saber in her face. She moved back away from the kid amd the parents of the kid just sat and watched. SMH.

We went to Canada looking for Max but still couldn't find him

We headed back to the room amd stopped at Ale and Compass for a night cap. Zelda took a nap

Then I hear someone call my name. Lo and behold, Max found us!

We had a drink and gossiped about all you folks here on magic, JK! Zelda was wide awake amd excited to meet a new friend!

It was seriously awesome to finally meet in person after all the chats we've had on the forums. We started a few years ago with Max sending me.private messages in an effort to help me not get into arguments with other forum members and now we finally met in person.

It was a big day for not only Zelda, but Max as well! He got to meet Sean and Me in the same day! We joked that even tho Sean and I live abkut 45 minutes apart, Max, who lives in Canada met him first, lol

We are both staying at YC so we just had a drink amd called it a night as we were both pretty tired but we'll be hanging out more!

I asked if they had a steamer for my shirts. I don't do ironing after I learned the wonders of the steamer (not Cleveland 🤣). They sent one up, brand new in the box. Honors and benefits

Zelda had an extremely busy afternoon with her training.

We rode her very first attraction, MMRR!

She did great! A little confused at first with all the commotion of the ride but she settled down quickly.

Next we did Star Tours. They kennel the dog in a private room while your ride. This was good to test her temperament.

I got to walk down the CM hallway to get back to her when I got off the ride. There was a CM in the room with her keeping her company and she gave Zelda an A+ for her behavior while was gone.

We walked around a but more in some busy areas to test her and she was great.

I had to use the restroom so we ducked into the ABC Commissary amd when we walked in the restroom there was young kid probly 8 years old at the urinal. He saw Zelda and panicked and ran away from the urinal with his pants down and peeing all over the place. His father's reaction was quite hilarious as he got peed on. The boy had nothing to worry about but clearly was afraid of dogs.

It was time for a break after all the excitement. I grabbed a Sam Adam's Summer ale and we found some shade by Gert

It was getting hot amd Zelda was tired. We went back to the room so she could rest and get some food.

My sisters favkrite resort is Beach Club and she LOVES Hurricane Hannah's, the pool bar/restaurant so I sent her pics to tease her.

Crews Cup was hands down our favorite spot and favorite cheesburger amd fries on property. They changed the menu after they reopened after the stupid pandemic. We still enjoy the atmosphere and get a drink but we miss the old menu.

I let Zelda experience the joy of Frozen Ever After. She did very well on her first boat ride. She was not a fan of the splash at the end.

It was getting late so we headed as the fireworks were going off. Sue did ok with the fireworks as long as she was facing them. If we walked away she had to turn around. We will work more on that.

Back at the resort, we ran into this lush at the bar! JK we planned to meet for a drink.

As we were enjoying our drinks I heard someone say my name. It was Summer who is one of the concierge cast members up on club level. She had been extremely helpful on my 1st day of checking in and I had gotten to know her very well and Zelda recognized her right away!

She told me that she was off the next few days and may not see me again so I told her to come over and give Zelda some love before she left. Her and Zelda were both very excited!

Max entertained us with his amazing stories of his travels over seas to the various parks. We ordered another round and just chatted away like it was a steno pool.

I asked our waiter about putting in an order to go and he told me that the kitchen was closed already. I found that quite odd because they are open until 11 pm. It was only 10:20. And as many of you know from my past trip reports we frequent the ale and compass lounge often and I have ordered food as late as 10:50 PM and there was never a problem.

The waiter seemed quite sure of himself that the kitchen closes before the lounge and I wasn't going to debate it. I'll be inquiring about that with the concierge this morning.

Max and I finished our drinks and said our goodbyes for the evening. He cried like a little girl but I assured him I'd see him tomorrw. I joke, I joke.

Zelda amd I headed to the grab and go marketplace.

It was approximately 10:45 PM at this point and I grabbed A sandwich from the fridge. As I approached the counter to pay I noticed that they were still making hot sandwiches on the grill. I asked if it was too late to order one and they said it wasn't a problem at all. I asked the young man making the sandwiches what was easier for him and he said everything was fine but I asked what he'd like to make and he said I'll make you a nice Cuban, which I obliged!

I inquired about ale and compass not serving food this late and they assured me that the waiter was incorrect and that they should be serving food. Again, I'll inquire about this.

And then I recalled as Max and I were sitting there, we could hear the staff in the kitchen singing, chanting, laughing, etc. I wondered if they were celebrating that they had given us the old bamboozle lol. Perhaps @amjt660 can chime in and make a statement if my memory is correct or if I was just looking for a reason to be upset with them.

In the end I think it was a better experience to actually get my 1st sandwich from the marketplace and it was very delicious. I did not get any photos of it lol
