My Fox Orlando Update 1

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspicious device found in a bus maintenance area of Walt Disney World. Employees located the object attached to the undercarriage of a WDW bus.

The bus was undergoing routine maintenance at a back stage maintenance facility.

Members of the Orange County Sheriff's Office Hazardous Device Team responded to the maintenance facility to evaluate the device and determine how to proceed.

It is confined to a backstage maintenance area and has not affected the operation of any of the company's theme parks.

Disney employees in close proximity have been evacuated from the scene and all bus service at the Walt Disney World has been suspended indefinitely.

As a result of the suspended bus service, WDW has announced extended hours at Disney's Animal Kingdom until 7 p.m. and all water parks until 6 p.m. Taxi services has also been expanded.

If all buses pass inspection, they will be back in service in approximately 2 hours according to a park spokesperson.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office bomb squad is investigating a suspicious object found under a bus at Disney World.
The resort has suspended bus service, a Disney spokeswoman said at 5:30 p.m.
A worker doing maintenance on the bus noticed the suspicious device and alerted authorities, the Sheriff's Office said Thursday shortly after 5 p.m.
The bomb squad and a hazardous material team are on the scene, which is reported near Disney's Animal Kingdom but far from places where guests visit. But Disney said it has stopped all bus service until at least 7:30 p.m. as other buses are checked.
Hours at the Animal Kingdom were extended to 7 p.m., since guests who rely on buses can't get transportation. A guest at Epcot called WESH 2 to say an announcement was made over loudspeakers telling guests that they were experiencing backups with bus service, but did not mention a bomb scare.
The view from Chopper 2 shows emergency vehicles around a large building. A member of the bomb squad went into the building.
Dozens of buses can be seen lined up near another Disney work facility.
Shortly after 6 p.m., bomb squad members could be seen placing something in an open area near the bus facility, apparently in preparation for exploding it.
The Sheriff's Office said the suspicious object was reported about 3 p.m. during routine maintenance at a back-stage maintenance facility.
The incident is the latest in a series of incidents at Disney World. In July, a monorail pilot died when another monorail crashed into his near the Magic Kingdom. A stuntman died during a rehearsal of the Indiana Jones show in August at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Why do you keep posting this over and over?

They think everything is over, bomb squad appears to be packing up and press conference happening.

The WESH chopper pilot has a live mic... this is hillarious if you aren't listening online. "I'm bored, can we go home?"

I like when he asked about the restaurant being open in Sunshine.

We have stations in Orlando that love Disney and others love to get dirt on them. They are also doing a story about cruise ships that are failing the environmental laws. Carnival recieved a "D-" and Disney and others recieved an "F." And, go figure, they only interviewed Disney on the matter.
Saw that as well. Kind of sad, really.... But that is how the news business goes.

From the statement released, in a gist, reports they are doing an excellent job & don't need to stoop to another company's policy.

Chopper footage is interesting, and I've correlated where it's happening by matching the scenery on Google Earth.

Ain't the internets grand?

Chopper commentary is funny.....I am glad it seems to be nothing and so we can just enjoy that part.
