My Fox Orlando Update 2

KE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Office Hazardous Device Unit have determined that an object attached to a Walt Disney World bus is not explosive or hazardous. Once that determination was made, investigators removed the object from the bus for further examination. It is still unclear what the object is or why it was placed on the bus.

Employees located the object attached to the undercarriage of a WDW bus. The bus was undergoing routine maintenance at a back stage maintenance facility. Members of the Orange County Sheriff's Office Hazardous Device Team responded to the maintenance facility just after 3 p.m. to evaluate the device and determine how to proceed.

It was confined to a backstage maintenance area. Disney employees in close proximity were briefly evacuated from the scene and all bus service at the Walt Disney World was suspended.

As a result of the suspended bus service, WDW extended hours at Disney's Animal Kingdom all water parks. Taxi services were also been expanded to accommodate park guests.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Orange County Sheriff's Office bomb squad is investigating a suspicious object found under a bus at Disney World.
The resort has suspended bus service, a Disney spokeswoman said at 5:30 p.m.

A worker doing maintenance on the bus noticed the suspicious device and alerted authorities, the Sheriff's Office said Thursday shortly after 5 p.m.
The bomb squad and a hazardous material team are on the scene, which is reported near Disney's Animal Kingdom but far from places where guests visit. But Disney said it has stopped all bus service until at least 7:30 p.m. as other buses are checked.
Hours at the Animal Kingdom were extended to 7 p.m., since guests who rely on buses can't get transportation. A guest at Epcot called WESH 2 to say an announcement was made over loudspeakers telling guests that they were experiencing backups with bus service, but did not mention a bomb scare.

Dozens of buses can be seen lined up near another Disney work facility.
Shortly after 6 p.m., bomb squad members could be seen placing something in an open area near the bus facility, apparently in preparation for exploding it.

The Sheriff's Office said the suspicious object was reported about 3 p.m. during routine maintenance at a back-stage maintenance facility.
The incident is the latest in a series of incidents at Disney World. In July, a monorail pilot died when another monorail crashed into his near the Magic Kingdom. A stuntman died during a rehearsal of the Indiana Jones show in August at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

News 13 update 5

LAKE BUENA VISTA -- The Orange County Sheriff's Office says an object found under a Disney bus is not explosive or hazardous.

The object was found around 3 p.m. Thursday when the bus was in for routine maintenance at a maintenance facility near Disney's Animal Kingdom.

That's when Disney workers found something suspicious attached to the undercarriage of a bus.

The bomb squad checked out the device and the maintenance facility was evacuated as a precaution.

Meanwhile, all Disney bus operations have been temporarily suspended. Disney is doing this to check all their buses and their fleet.

They plan on putting each bus back into service after it passes inspection.

There will be a white dot affixed to the front windshield of the bus on the driver's side to show the bus is safe.

News 13 has also learned Disney's Animal Kingdom will stay open until 7 p.m. It was scheduled to close at 5 p.m.

Taxi services have also been expanded to help with the bus shortage due to the inspection.

Disney released the following statement:

"Safety of guest and cast members is top priority and Disney apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause their guest and they will address there concerns on a case by case basis."

If you are at Disney and affected by the bus suspension, e-mail us your pictures and stories to special@cfnews13.com.

And furthermore, will the owner of a 'Hello Kitty' backpack containing a ham and cheese on rye please contact guest services, immediately."

Good to hear it wasn't as serious as proposed.

Anticlimatic? I agree.

I would have love to see some epic detonation occur.

"And explain to the nice sheriff why you taped it to the bus now." :goodnevil

I am currently sitting in my room and the busses are not running yet. All we were told when we tried to board the busses at 5 pm that there was technical issues, so we went from MK to Epcot to take the boat ride to the Swan. I hope they run the busses shortly. It sure is a ghost town at the parks tonight, 5 to 10 minutes wait time...

I left Epcot at 7PM and they had already made two PA announcements throughout the park that bus service had returned to normal and apologized for any inconvenience.
