EPCOT Brazil (and maybe others) Pavilion Coming to Epcot [not about Brazilian people nor a country wish list]

Do you know the official language in Arendelle? I want to learn it on DuoLingo before my Adventures by Disney trip there.
Here are some tips from the Norwegian tourist people for some family fun while you're there! Not sure about that 'real-life Elsa', though I'll give it to them if it's on the basis that she can shoot ice out of her hands.

I don't think Brazil or Spain are worthy of pavilions. There are many more countries with more notable landmarks and food. Plus the landmark of the frontrunner Brazil is very religious. I don't want to have Jesus' looking down at me as I'm eating an ice cream.

Me - "I'll start my diet when I get back."
A big booming voice - "No you won't."
There are other religious buildings in World Showcase.

It's one thing to mention religion it's another to have a big Jesus. I don't see any other religion doing that in Epcot. What's next we gotta have a giant Mohammed and a devil for the satanic people who sacrifice goats.

The other pavilions who love Jesus (Italy, Mexico, etc) don't force their faith on visitors. So South America should be respectful and do the same.
Are you saying that the reproduction Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests from the Temple of Heaven in the China pavilion, the Buddhist pagoda in the Japan pavilion, the Shinto Torii gate in Japan pavilion (actually in the lagoon), and the reproduction Koutoubia minaret in Morocco are substantially different? In what way?

I think these were all mentioned earlier in the thread.

Edited to add: It may *seem* like a Christ the Redeemer would be more obviously religious due to potential idolatry (ironically), but for me personally that's probably due to my relative ignorance of the other religions.

The Jesus on the mountain top is an iconic landmark that is representative of the area..not necessarily meant to shove religion down anyone's throat... and the Mexico pavilion is entered through a giant Mayan pyramid...which was also related to ancient religions...but I don';t feel like the Mexicans are trying to shove their pre-Colombian religion down my throat...What about the Norwegian Stave Church? Your point is really off track about this.

It's one thing to mention religion it's another to have a big [indeed] Jesus. I don't see any other religion doing that in Epcot.

  • Mexico's pre-Columbian Pyramid Temple.
  • Norway's Stave Church
  • China's Temple of Heaven
  • Italy's statues of angels and saints
  • Japan's Tori Gate (Shinto) and Buddhist Temple
  • Morocco's Islamic Mosque Minaret
  • Canada's Native American Totems
Many of these things are [indeed] big.

Not to mention lesser religious displays:
  • America's Christmas show with religious carols and Gospel readings proclaiming Jesus as the incarnate savior of the world
  • all the other pavilions Holiday story tellers telling stories of faith (including Judaism in the America pavilion)
  • St. George statue in Germany and Germany's year-round Christmas store

I’m sure I mentioned al of those, but I think the post has gone. I also included the Stave Church in Norway. Maybe there were some deletions made .....

Uh oh. I think that might be my fault. The thread got derailed because apparently, this off-topic subject can't be discussed in a civil manner. It got bad so I reported it and then the whole thing went poof.
