Tagging back in -- Are the Mods watching this -- Do any of you people have any class?? Why make personal attacks?? Sure -- everything Epcot may not fit "your" definition of greatness -- but it is working and getting better....

is it a personal attack if the person isn't here? We would have closed an awful lot of Eisner-bashing threads, huh? If you place yourself on a pedastal in society (i.e. in a position where many people will know who you are), you better be able to take a little criticism.

Just read on Miceage that Brad Rex is stepping down this week. So much for Mr. "There will be no Epcot 25th. anniversary" bigshot. I hope Rasolu and Al Wiess are next. We need real visionaries to revamp Epcot Center not these lazy goons.

Where did you read this? I cannot find it at miceage. would someone post a link please. . . based on my search, I would say that this had been an unconfirmed rumor of a rumor. if I am blind, I apologize, but I seriously could not find this anywhere I looked.

Phil Holmes is a horrible Manager. Brad Rex was one of the handful of good managers remaining.

Well it appears Phil is going to be fired as well as part of a management shuffle at WDW.

Oh and the word broke in the WDW section of the Miceage message board for those of you who want to read it. The guy who posted is very reliable and someone else confirmed it.

This is good news for the parks!

EPCOT's early closing of Future World, the lack of promoting the 25th Anniversary of the park, these are poor choices that deserve removal of management. EPCOT needs a major revitalization to the overall park. SE sounds like its a good point. Innoventioins and the entire connectivity to Future World's theme need to be reestablished along with rides/shows/attractions being added to World Showcase along with a new nation or two would really revitalize EPCOT. I can see why EPCOT's management is being dumped. My only concern is that this is for the better.

with all due respect, perhaps i am overly sensitive to this as mr. rex afforded me many an opportunity to bend his ear during my time at epcot, but that is a completely unfair statement, especially if you have no idea how the inner workings of the company operate...mr. rex is an upstanding gentleman who was a joy to work for, and is the furthest thing from a "mr. bigshot"...mr. rex acts with an amazing amount of class, nothing like the personality of a "mr. bigshot", thus making this assumption unfounded...

i would highly doubt that not having a 25th anniversary celebration was not solely the decision of mr. rex, or even largely the decision of mr. rex...the idea of an official park celebration is large enough that i would think it was more in the hands of mr. rasulo...

again, sorry if this looks upset, but "mr. bigshot" seems like a highly unfair assumption to me...

Thanks for sharing that. It's very important for me, and I believe many here to know some of the positives of some management that seems to attract vilification like a lightening rod. While senior management receives most of the "blame" for unliked decisions or lack of decisions (sometimes appropriately so), they rarely get the credit for the good things.

Congrats for being the one that feels the need to do this.

Welcome back Ghostbuster626...

Or is it Return of Ghost...?

Or Lewis Carroll?
He does seem to have that tone about him.
It seems that a lot of people that met or worked with Brad Rex are sorry to see him leave. If he stepped down on his own, I wish him well. If he was forced out, I hope the people doing the forcing, know what they are doing.

From the micechat forum, it sounds like he was forced out, but is moving on to bigger and better things. Who knows how true that really is, but then again it's those same people that are the ones that started the rumor in the first place. *shrugs*

Let me make it very clear. I am sorry to hear some of the piling on for some Disney management/senior management. There are a lot of good people working there, some great people, and I appreciate the number of people that have posted here recognizing the positive and letting others know that we in fact may be loosing something with his departure.

OK?

Despite the infamous comment (which he obviously had little control over), he seems like a nice guy... But the timing of all this is certainly intriguing...
