Why does everyone want a 5th park when they can't maintain the thematic integrity of or properly maintain the parks they have?
Prior to covid they maintained 4 parks without much issue. Sure, there were thing we would have liked them to do, or rides we wanted refreshing, but they managed fine. Theres always going to be tired rides in need of a refit in any park.

These new marvel movies generally lack focus, aren’t as good, don’t have the star power the originals had and aren’t tying a clear story together like the first 20 films did lol.

Plus you have to be tied to Disney plus to know what the heck is going on. Marvel needs to figure it out and they need to figure it out quick.

Lucus film puts out a handful of films that all really did pretty well and they put a pause to their future while they reevaluated what they need/want to do.

Marvel needs to do the same?

And what has happened to Pixar?

More like the box office numbers were falling off a cliff and the 3rd movie performed so poorly with horrendous word of mouth, they had to stop because things went all the way left.

Rise of Skywalker barely made more money than a spinoff movie in Rogue One.

The utter collapse of Star Wars at the box office in no way compares to the run Marvel is still on.

What legacy does Iger have, though? Before he left, he put the company deeply in debt by buying 20th Century Fox, the moron. He already had Star Wars (which he ruined), so why buy Fox? For what IP? Shirley Temple? His shopping sprees made "Disney" look like an evil greedy monopoly. He started the process that made Disney lose its warmth, charm, and wholesome family image. He and his mini-me Chapek have BOTH done a lot of damage. Forgive me for not celebrating Iger's return. We lost the pot, but now we're stuck with the kettle.
What about Andor?

The last batch of SW films followed the performance of the prequels.

It’s pretty obvious the numbers for Episode 1 and 7 were a case of pent up demand.

"Iger’s failure to walk away from Disney is a business school case study on how not to pass the baton. That’s not to say he isn’t the right man for the job, but coming back to replace Chapek has some Jay Leno-Conan O’Brien “Tonight Show” vibes."

And in the end we all got stuck with Jimmy Fallon.
Horrible analogy. In your scenario Bob Chapek is Conan and you're considering Fallon as worse than Leno. None of those fit.

I haven’t even watch the last 5-6 Pixar movies… is anyone really interested anymore or is it time for 4 more Toy Story movies?
You haven't missed much. Coco was really their last triumph. Toy Story 4 was pretty good, but an unnecessary addition to a franchise that already scored the perfect ending. Except for Luca, the rest all recycled similar themes or stories that were done better previously. The less said about Lightyear, the better. I was particularly looking forward to Soul, but it was a big let down. Onward was "meh", and Turning Red didn't really do anything interesting with the premise.

Maybe if you're going to watch any of the recent Pixar films, go with Luca. It's merely good, not great, but at least the art design goes beyond the usual Pixar house style and gives you something kind of different.

Actually it works very well.

Leno was retiring (Iger).
Conan was tapped to replace Leno (Chapek).
Board brought Leno back, Conan got upset and moved to TBS

Fallon is worse than Leno. Conan has a totally different schtick than Leno. I preferred Leno. Fallon should have stayed at SNL.

I know some of the music from parks but that’s about it.

Pixar really is an interesting situation. Chapek did not seem to be supportive of it at all but it is a bit of a chicken and the egg scenario. Who failed who first? Do they feel like the Pixar acquisition did what it needed to do and now its time to erase the brand distinction? Would make for an awkward situation at DCA.

An interesting observation related to this... Luca (Pixar) and Raya (WDAS) came out relatively close to one another. IMO the former was much better than the latter but look at the amount of merchandising Raya has in stores compared to Luca, even today, despite the fact that Raya doesn't feel like its all that popular (perhaps I am wrong?).

At first I thought it was because Luca would just be treated as one of the summer season IPs from a merch standpoint like Stitch and Moana but that has not been the case.

The moral of the analogy is that it was handled very messily and damaged all parties involved. This is the same.

Episode 3 didnt perform at 50% of Episode 1. Episode 3 also had good word of mouth coming from the much maligned episode 2.

Rise of Skywalker also had the worst word of mouth / cinemascore in the history of live action star wars. It was bad. Actors were coming out after the film trying to distance themselves from it. I remember there were talks of it maybe costing Kathleen Kennedy her job since the new parks and rides were tied to it.

All that aside the film still brought in just shy of 1.1B on a budget of 275M .. lol

The story sucked but the movie was still a cash cow. Not sure there an argument here other than nobody liked the film… it would have done better but people liked the last Jedi even less. Talk about suckery.
