“As we approach the end of 2022, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to the biggest Disney fans in the world – all of you.

Disney is fortunate to have the most devoted and enthusiastic fans, and I was reminded of this a few weeks ago when I visited Disneyland Resort and attended the Candlelight Processional. It was invigorating to be surrounded by so many guests who make what we do possible. We love your passion for our company and your enthusiasm for what we create, and we will continue to do our best to exceed your highest expectations.

As you know, next year Disney will mark its 100th anniversary. We are immeasurably grateful to the generations of fans all around the globe who have invited our stories and characters into their lives, and we look forward to celebrating the groundbreaking moments, the cherished memories, and the creative visionaries that made Disney the most beloved name in entertainment over the past century.

During the coming year, D23 will launch a slate of exciting events to mark this historic milestone. More information can be found here.

Looking at all the opportunities ahead, I can honestly say there has never been a better time to be a Disney fan. It is an extraordinary privilege to lead this remarkable company again, and I am so grateful for your continued passion for Disney. On behalf of all of us at The Walt Disney Company, I wish you a wonderful holiday season and a very happy and prosperous New Year.”

Terrific salesman

Did you apply for the job yet? You've obviously got it all figured out. We need you to set them straight!
Thanks for the vote of confidence 😉

When many of us experience the parks and resorts over many many years, we probably have a better guest experience understanding than anyone at the top of the company. Do you think any of them have ever used G+, virtual queues, ILL, park reservations, wait until 2pm to park hop, rope dropped, waited until the chip in their refillable mug allows them to get more to drink, dining reservations, etc etc etc.

They are the ones that need to figure it out because they don’t know what guests truly experience these days and it keeps getting worse. They likely use surveys to help make some decisions, but those can be made to come out with varying results and different interpretations as well. Until they truly feel and experience the parks and resorts the same way we do, (past to present) they’ll never really see or get it.

The CEO, CFO, board, etc really shouldn’t be making decisions for the theme parks beyond approving budgets and congratulating or firing the Parks President for his/her success/failure. And ideally the parks Pres shouldn’t be making decisions beyond interfacing with the exec team, congratulating, and firing the parks vps who should be in the parks everyday and communicating what needs to be done.

Multiple levels of bureaucracy can be frustrating but is also necessary to get the power into the peoples hands who actually know what needs to be fixed, changed, kept.

Micromanagement by high level executives, who aren’t on the ground, is a quick way to doom any company.

I don't know...
I can certainly remember better times to be a Disney fan.

Do you think that he would come out and say, "So, I know things stink right now. I mean, Genie+ is an unparalleled mess, our construction timelines are ludicrous, Disney+ content insults intelligence except for two shows, and our stock price continues to tank. However, if you come and spend money at our parks, we promise to not change anything and we will continue depending on your nostalgia to draw you back in."

Admitting error is not a big strength for a lot of CEO's.

Same, but he did say “Looking at all the opportunities ahead“… so that pretty much confirms reservations are ending, G+ is being replaced with Maxpass, they’re going to announce new rides in every park... A CEO would never mislead us to create excitement for the future.

They wanna exceed my highway expectations bring the magic Kingdom back to the turn of the century like it was supposed to me, I want a light parade comparable to Spectromagic, better music for the shows, a fountain show thruout the day in World Celebration, give Spaceship Earth and Imagination some love and a better suitable nighttime show for Epcot and not just some reincarnation of Reflections of Earth.

And he said all that to these fans without once calling them an "Unfavorable Attendance Mix".

Iger is a real pro! ;)

It's all speculation that Iger is going to fix things right?

I think. I guess. I hope?

Disney stock certainly didn't get a bounce from the Burbank coup and return of Bob Iger. And it's still headed downward a month later...

From $158 a year ago, down to $97 when the Burbank coup happened on Nov. 20th, and then sliding another 10 bucks to $87 at today's bell.

When does Disney's recovery start? After all those critical people in Burbank cubicles return from their two week Christmas break?
