Personally I prefer a cut or two of pig with my ground beef thank you (bacon, pulled pork, pork belly, etc.)
My wife had the BBQ Burger:

"Our Signature-blend of Beef and House-made Seasoning served on a Brioche Bun topped with 9-hour Smoked Pork, Bourbon-Bacon Jam, Cheddar, Lettuce, and Barbecue Sauce"

Yup. Disney on a budget does not exist.
I think it is possible, but it would require folks to compromise. I’m based on the west coast. I will leave the parks and go to In-N-Out or even McDonald’s before I eat any of the burgers on-site. Then again, Disneyland’s quick service is not exactly the same as WDW’s, so there’s that. With that being said, when I went to MK in May, I had chicken tenders and fries and I enjoyed the food. Was it the best tenders and fries I’ve ever had? No, but it was still good enough to eat. My only complaint about that meal was the water.

Bird flu wiped out a bunch of the flock and you are just a bit beyond Thanksgiving. Doesn't excuse robbery but that is how they think, supply lines

A local BBQ spot near me that normally has incredible smoked turkey hasn't had any since like April because of supply problems. I think I saw it's finally going back on the menu this week.

I mean, anything is possible, but it would probably take 2 hours for a family to exit the park, go to their own car (not Disney buses/Monorail), drive their own car outside of WDW, eat at McDonald's, pack back up, come back in, go through security/ticketing, and be back for whatever they wanted to do. That's not likely for the average guest. Or they go back to their hotel and each lunch/use the pool, but that is taking away a lot of hours of park time.

DLR is a lot easier, since you can walk to off-site hotels.

There are def less expensive options in the parks, but when you think about the ticket, hotel, food, souvenirs, etc., it's a ton (and I'm just going with 2 people total).

Even getting to Disney Springs (with much better options) from the park is a bit of a hassle that takes a lot of time. You can bus directly there, but between waiting for the bus, the transit time, getting to where you want to go in DS, eating, then waiting for a bus and the transit time back you're still probably out of the park for 2+ hours.

That's one thing that Universal has going for it -- you can just walk out of the front gate of either park and you're there at CityWalk with some good food options. I guess they'll lose that with Epic Universe, though.

Depends on where you start from, I could leave AK and run to 192 and back in 30 - 45 minutes. Stay outside the lunch rush and if you take it to go it would be even less time.
