No I'm talking about a broader park concept much like how MGM was a working studio and many rides aimed at demonstrating movie making. I was hoping it would be more cohesive than areas for specific IPs. I'm sure Star Wars will be unique and wonderful.

Ahhhhhhh. That would be fantastic but unfortunately, that hasn't been the direction of this company for at least 15 years..... Sad as it is to say.

Sorry for having fun

Here that variety of 'fun' usually includes the use of edged and projectile weapons, police and ambulances, Fun for small values of fun.

But it IS entertaining to watch on the local news as they run the 'Gang Violence Erupts at local Club - Film at 11' banner.

I am not debating what Lasseter did for PIXAR. That is not the debate. I am pointing out that PD is quoting misinformation about the creation of PIXAR. That's all.

PhotoDave siad it was only different by name only (from Disney). Sorry, that is not true. lol

PIXAR even talks about it on their own site (as I previously linked): http://www.pixar.com/about/Our-Story
Those origins don't relate all that much to what the company became. The focus shifted and the notion of what Pixar is in the popular consciousness is the film studio, not the hardware or software businesses of its origin.

Ha ha ha ....my point exactly! Tell PhotoDave to do his homework. Go re-read his post. lol

I am not...I repeat...I am NOT debating what PIXAR became and what role Lassiter played in that happening.

I am debating what PD said in his post regarding PIXAR being the same company and different in name only. That is not true. It is a lie. lol

@PhotoDave219 any hints of what come in the way of Star Wars land? The good thing about AvatarLand coming first is when Disney hits a home run with that land - they will have to top it with an over the top SW land. Hopefully Zsolt Hormay will stay on for the next project.

If i had any hints, I'd share them. Instead, just be patient.

I expect more info to leak out as time goes by and things filter through the company. Makes hiding your source that much easier....

After getting to roam backstage at the Walt Disney Studios and taking an extended tour of Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, I guess I never really looked at Disney-MGM as really trying to live up to the goal of being a truly working studios...more just a theme park that celebrated movie-TV entertainment with a bit of on-site production included.

However, IMO, that is not a bad thing. Simply focusing on the celebration of the end-product with more attractions/lands highlighting specific IPs works well and can provide a cohesive theme for this park.

Again, JMO.

Just look back at Martin's posts starting at page 93. He mentions it won't be too long until some of this comes out. I am thinking D23, and that is already within 2 months!
