Pick a colour, any colour...

Every area that I've heard was considered for large-scale change over the last 3 years. No guarantee which will make the final chop. Other areas could be included but I can't personally confirm.

That's how potentially far-reaching and thorough the makeover could be. Note I said "could".

Thanks again @marni1971

Look at all that space in red.

Good lord, they don't even have to touch the rest of the park if they just re-purpose the old Backlot Tour.

So how many attractions would this involve? And will the attraction count be higher than what was there before?

I'm hoping TSPL and a Star Wars D/E isn't all a $1.5 billion-$2 billion makeover gets us.

Welcome to Iger-land... Where the Bottom Line Comes True.

"When you wish upon a dollar..."

Seriously though, in 2005 when I first met him I was unimpressed. He asked all these insincere questions about our department. I'm glad I got to be part of Disney before him, cause the one after has been a nightmare.

When our benefits got cut, it caused a huge dent in my daughters life cause I had to cover myself her braces. It was so expensive. Nightmare. Before all her appointments cost me only 25 dollar copay. After the cut, her braces went covered and I had to fork it out.

My raises were generous, but spaced in weird intervals. And it always seemed when I had to do performance reviews they wanted me to focus on the bad things instead of the accomplishments.

The real deal breaker near the end came when they moved me to California but did not give me relocation adjustment to my pay. Is it wrong of me to kinda reveal these things, maybe but I've been needing to say these things and no one but a few of you know who I am.

Good to get it off your chest. Also a wake up call for anyone who thinks it's great to move there and work for them. This is the reason why it's less and less magical for the guests every time I go and more and more cast members look miserable and it rubs off on the guests. They need to take care of their employees to keep them wanting to give the guests a magical experience, otherwise it's just a job.

In theory with more rides there will be less people on the on-stage paths, and more in ques and attractions.
Very true. The more places open the better. Can't have all these empty buildings to just walk past, need them open to draw people in.

At this point there's really no way they can't go through with a DHS makeover. It's years overdue, too many things are closed, or have closed ... it's time. That being said, I do question if it's going to be a big reveal like DCA or if they just drop things here and there as they do them. It'd be better to do one big announcement. I can see them just teasing Star Wars, still, but confirming it's actually 100% coming. Just them not giving any real details. I think that's a mistake too but I doubt they care what I think. They do what they want. We may still get no announcement even if something is greenlit. LOL. All they seem to do anymore is drop a note on the blog and call it a day.

They should do small info leaks leading up to D23 and then do a big announcement to build excitement for the release of Force Awakens. Then start releasing merchandise and other teasers.

OK, so we've had some assorted Bob Iger sightings at WDW.

Backstage at the Disney-MGM Studios ... he is staying hidden pretty well.

And as to BoD members, 99.9% of people at WDW wouldn't recognize them if they were talking to them.

It's entertaining to think you could be talking to a billionaire and have no idea.

Has anyone happened upon a number for Pandora? Just wondering if we can judge how many rides based on a dollar figure. if Pandora costs X what does DHS need over the next 5-10 years to fill out. $2 Billion? I think in comparison to DCA they rethemed many rides whereas DHS doesnt really have anything sitting around that they can redo. Seems like they need to build build build. Sure they could update Fantasmic or repurpose Indy for a new show but I am guessing new builds and complete tear downs will be what happens. How many SW based rides and attractions? How many Pixar based rides? Will they build a decent Pixar ride in addition to all the alleged Kiddie rides coming?

I don't know that there IS a number specifically for Pandora. To my knowledge, relocating FotLK, the Harambe expansion, converting existing infrastructure to be nighttime-compatible, and Pandora itself are all lumped into one overall project. Something in my memory banks says "between $0.5B and $1B."

As you can see in many of the permits that @danlb_2000 has shared, the project is referred to as "DAK Expansion" (code name Morpho), not "Avatarland" or anything specific.

And gifts shops and restaurants. Disney's looking to increase guest spending at DHS. Still, that's more people off pathways.

I don't think that's the primary goal. I think their #1 concern is to break the perception of DAK and DHS as half-day parks. If they can the average family's itinerary to a full day at DAK, a full day at DHS, and two days each at MK and Epcot, they can patch up some of the cracks in the bubble that were created by Potter. Room nights are the ultimate name of the game.

Cars Land, Mermaid, TSMM and WoC were 75% of the $1.25 billion DCA got. The rest was Buena Vista Street and some placemaking for Paradise Pier.

Keep in mind... my idea of what might happen involves keeping Indy/Muppets

I would think $2 billion could get:
TSPL ($80 million)
Pizza Planet relocation ($25 million)
Great Movie Ride upgrade ($70 million) - $150 million
Fantasmic revamp ($50 million) - $200 million
New daytime/nighttime parade ($50 million) - $250 million
Cars dark ride ($100 million) - $350 million
Monsters Inc dark ride ($100 million) - $475 million
relocated Laugh Floor ($50 million) - $525 million
reskin of HITSK for Up/Bug's Life ($25 million) - $550 million

One Man's Dream moved to Main Street, USA... replaced by Pixar Story ($25 million) - $575 million
B&TB replacement along with an additional theater ($75 million) - $650 million
Mermaid replacement ($50 million) - $700 million
Disney Junior upgrade ($25 million) - $725 million
Incredibles E-ticket using Twister ride system ($250 million) - $975 million
Gusteau's TS ($50 million) - $1.025 billion
Mos Eisley Cantina TS ($50 million) - $1.075 billion
Star Wars theming ($75 million) - $1.115 billion
Star Wars speedbike coaster ($175 million) - $1.29 billion
X-Wing/TIE spinners ($50 million) - $1.34 billion
Millenium Falcon walkthrough/M&G ($75 million) - $1.415 billion
Star Tours facade upgrade ($25 million) - $1.44 billion
Indy upgrade/revamp ($50 million) - $1.49 billion
MuppetVision upgrade ($35 million) - $1.525 billion
Muppets C-ticket dark ride ($50 million) - $1.575 billion
Muppet Mobile Labs/Electric Mayhem Streetmosphere ($20 million) - $1.595 billion
Swedish Chef/Gonzo reskins for Mama Melrose's/old Pizza Planet ($50 mlilion) - $1.645 billion
Sunset/Animation placemaking ($55 million) - $1.7 billion
New parking garages/reworked backstage ($300 million) - $2 billion

While I'd love to see a Mystic Manor clone added to Sunset, Toontown where Animation Courtyard/the space by RnRC is, and some theming upgrades for RnRC... those aren't essential.

Giving the park some thematically distinct areas (Star Wars/Indy, Muppets, Pixar, Disney Animation/Toontown, Old Hollywood) without the 'you're on a movie set' pretense would do wonders for making DHS a worthwhile park.

If New Fantasyland cost $425 million and Pandora cost $500 million, surely all of that could happen for roughly $2 billion. Especially if Backlot Tour and LMA being demolished isn't included in the cost.

the number I ve read on here was around 800 million for the entire expansion
Pure guesses
Pandora (500 million)
Harambe expansion (100 million)
ROL (100 million)
Nighttime Safari(100 million)
