My point isn't if it's positive or negative. It's that it seems every post by you seems to bring Universal into the discussion, seemingly inciting debate.

You mean just how pixie dusters and Disney Pr individuals come every week(by creating a new account) and then post everywhere how Frozen rules and how Frozenstorm is the best thing since sliced bread?

yeah.. Welcome to the magical world of forums. Where comparisons are a form of metric.

Jon.... because for the first time, in a long time, we actually have very significant reasons to be optimistic. Some of the most critical people of TWDC are finding positivity that Star Wars is on the BOD agenda.

This isnt Brigante putting out a twinker rumor 3 years ago. This isnt a silly blog posting without sourcing.

Instead, multiple people with high and different sources are saying the same thing: The BOD are in Orlando and they're here to talk Star Wars, among other things. And after the last 10 years of watching nothing happen at the Orlando Parks while DCA gets remade, Shanghai get built, HK get an expansion, DLP get a bailout and 2KLUTS finally get replaced, it very well may be time for Orlando to shine once more.

We have reason to be optimistic.
Yeah, but remember how hyped we were for "pixar land" with the "big guns" touring DHS?
And in the end, we only heard the rumor of them giving the go ahead to only another queue line and another track for that toy story attraction?

So we have a poster who claims Iger is in a meeting in Orlando at the Grand Floridian. Naturally this must mean he is there to discuss the Star Wars Land rite?

ROFLMAO only on this board are people this niave.

Oh you must be new. Usually when @1974 says something, 95% of the time its right on the money... so do you have anything to contribute besides some sick boy band dance moves?

I'd take it with a pinch of salt at what they claim a certain attraction cost.

I'm always shocked by Disney's costs. Only Disney can take a $20 million ride and throw it in a $20 million building and end up with an overall cost of $150 million. Theming, development, and WDI are expensive but for what they spend on one ride most parks could add 5 off the shelf mega coasters and 5 flat rides.

When TWDC gets new leadership this is definitely something that needs to be on the agenda of what to fix. It's just extremely bizzare.

No matter who becomes CEO, I'm rooting for Kennedy like yourself, the real problem will be purging Disney's executive ranks; particularly in its most problematic division, Parks & Resorts. To get Disney to be its best again, its going to need a firehose of an enema to clean out all the junk. The hundreds of execs who you or I have never heard that have had a tremendously negative effect on the company. At the same time, the next CEO will need to clearly outline what Disney as a company should be, something Bob has never done.

How do you figure P&R is the most "problematic division"? Is it because of profits? Attendance?

I believe the most problematic division to the company was their gaming unit... Disney Interactive? ESPN is ok right now, but when business models change, Disney is in trouble. Perhaps securing a distribution channel (Netflix?) or creating one?

Has anyone considered that Iger and BoD are meeting at WDW for security reasons, Perhaps it's not WDW that's the target of the spending... I seem to recall there is another Disney park on the west coast.

Meeting at WDW minimizes the possibility of leaks from resort staff especially since WDW resort staff tend to be recent immigrants with limited knowledge of Disney, So they have no idea that there would be people interested in the waste paper from the meeting or photos of the meeting rooms.

Immigrants are not stupid. I mean I know accepting the working conditions sometimes seen at WDW is crazy, but....

I think your other ideas about Disney discussing the selling of some share of P&R or buying a cable company are more plausible. For sure, they are discussing other items and not just WDW.
