Hogsmeade only cost $165 million.Didn't the first WWoHP pay itself off and then some in a pretty short timeframe? I'm guessing the same could happen with Star Wars.

Did they ever say who screwed up the chance to have Potter in the Disney parks?he would have gone guns blazing "NOT ON MY AGE.. NOT ON MY WATCH.. NOT IN MY TOWN"
he seems pretty Legit!I volunteer as tribute.
You mean.. "All Lesetter" pushing his agenda and preventing his idea from getting stomped.Ive got my gripes about what is going on with WDW, but you paint Iger with a very large brush that isnt fair.
DCAs current (and excellent) condition is all Iger. And, negotiating these IPs such as Marvel and LucasFilm under the Disney Umbrella is also Iger.
Iger may be a money man (his job, he is CEO), and he may be a movies man (Eisner was even more so), but he has done a lot of good overall for Disney Parks. Some really bad things too, but its not all bad.
they are all figments of your imagination....They are already spending money on WDW...or are all those construction walls an illusion?
Your getting hopes sky high. Also, I saw Jurassic World today (it was okay) and was so disappointed that the Star Wars teaser trailer wasn't shown.I understand your skepticism.... Alas for once, you should go with it.
Besides its a board meeting, you think they're just talking the parks? Of course not.
But I assume you, DHS is on the agenda. Star Wars is on the agenda.
No idea, but If Disney Imagineers only had a themed bathroom idea to deliver to Rowling, I wouldn't be surprised if them got the finger.Did they ever say who screwed up the chance to have Potter in the Disney parks?

I'm still shocked when I read that number and then think how Mermaid just by itself is rumored at close to $100 million. Where the heck did that money go?!?!?!?!Hogsmeade only cost $165 million.
I forgot who but someone trusted on here said the Harry Potter pitch from WDI was a ride like TSMM with wands. Yeah............No idea, but If Disney Imagineers only had a themed bathroom idea to deliver to Rowling, I wouldnt be surprised of them getting the finger.

Do you even know how to post anything without turning it into Disney vs. Universal?I forgot who but someone trusted on here said the Harry Potter pitch from WDI was a ride like TSMM with wands. Yeah............
I know how he feels.Do you even know how to post anything without turning it into Disney vs. Universal?
The first post was actually positive saying that Star Wars could be as successful as Harry Potter was. The last one was an answer to @Cesar R M's restroom joke with info that has been posted on this site before. I'll give you the middle one.Do you even know how to post anything without turning it into Disney vs. Universal?
The Little Mermaid in Disney's California Adventure cost that much. It's why all thisbtalk about big numbers is not indicative of anything. Disney hasn't been efficient in their spending in decades and the problems only seem to worse. Bob Weis was supposedly spearheading a more Universal Creative inspired approach to Shanghai Disneyland but it doesn't seem like it worked out too well.I'm still shocked when I read that number and then think how Mermaid just by itself is rumored at close to $100 million. Where the heck did that money go?!?!?!?!
My point isn't if it's positive or negative. It's that it seems every post by you seems to bring Universal into the discussion, seemingly inciting debate. The first post was actually positive saying that Star Wars could be as successful as Harry Potter was. @ParentsOf4 brought up the success of Harry Potter. I took that and said Star Wars could be just as successful. My point isn't if it's positive or negative. It's that it seems every post by you seems to bring Universal into the discussion, seemingly inciting debate.
Hopefully they will overlook how the movie did at the box office. If they move the laughing floor and buzz over to DHS and CoP to EPCOT, that would free up some room.Any chance the tomorrowland redo is on agenda?
Well, I wasn't speaking just specifically towards the quoted posts, but it's cool. The same Uni/Dis debates just get old after circling around to it for the umpteenth time.@ParentsOf4 brought up the success of Harry Potter. I took that and said Star Wars could be just as successful.
This thread is confusing. We seem to have gone from the outside chance that DHS could get some Star Wars loving - I've been reading rumous of a 'LucasLand' for getting on for ten years now (we've already had *two* D23's where fans were pretty much swearing blind a Star Wars land was going to be announced at the event), yet like the poster that cried wolf, nothing ever happens, nothing comes of it.
Just wait! We are told. Just wait, then you'll see! So we wait, but still nothing.
Nothing on the Disney Parks Blog, no sign of any construction. The only evidence seems to be Iger hinting that they were looking at bringing Star Wars to the parks, which he's been doing for several years now with nothing coming of it.
So what is different this week? Why does the consensus seem to be that something huge *is* about to be announced this time? Is it different this time because people with reliable sources have been shown plans or given information they can't share yet? Or is it just mass hysteria, wishful thinking boosted by the hype of the new movie and the hope that a few more attractions closing might signal some construction instead of just a way to save some money.
Basically why should we believe anything is going on this time when every time these rumours have swirled in the last few years nothing has come of it?
