Boardwalk or Beach Club

Which do you prefer? We're currently booked at Beach Club. We've never stayed there, and like to try new places. However, I really fell in love with the Boardwalk. I much prefer the theme and look of the rooms at Boardwalk. Which would you choose? This is between the hotels, not the Villas.

I'm opposite to you - I've never stayed at Boardwalk. I absolutely love the Beach Club - the open airy feel of the lobby, the bright whites and pastels of the building, the view of the Boardwalk (when it's all lit up it's spectacular) and sitting at Hurricane Hannahs with a cool drink taking in the relaxed feel of Stormalong Bay. It's really quite relaxing. To me the air just SMELLS better there. It's tough to put into words.

I'm actually planning on staying at the Boardwalk for our next trip. We stayed in the MK area out first 3 trip swith the kids and I had to convince my parents it would be OK to stay in the EPCOT area - and they ended up LOVING it. We went with WL this trip since it's a bit less expensive but plan on going to Boardwalk next time. I'm really looking forward to it - glad to know it is a favorite for some!

You're staying at my 2 favorite resorts. I always stay at the Lodge in January, as it's so cozy during the slightly cooler months. Boardwalk was just awesome. So much to do right outside your door. I also love the whole theme of the place.

I'm really, really looking forward to WL. I've actually never set foot in the place (although I've seen pictures!!). We go to the Hoop dee Doo every year so I boat past it, but I've never seen it first hand. Having gone to Disney more times than I can count since I was very little, I rarely get to have a totally new experience so this should be super-cool. I've never been inside the Boardwalk either but we walked past the pool walking to Hollywood Studios last year and we hung out on the Boardwalk itself at night.

Oh man - Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, compares to walking into the Wilderness Lodge. Absolutely breathtaking. Smell is hard to describe - Like a wood fire oven with all sorts of great food cooking inside. True, the rooms are a bit smaller than at other deluxe resorts, but just as nicely appointed. And the pool, while not as big as some of the other pools on property, is my personal favorite. And the hot tubs are awesome.

I didn't vote because I have only stayed at the BC. The first time I walked in, I knew I was home. I am afraid of not getting that feeling elsewhere, so I have stayed there for my last few trips. The smell of the lobby, the walk to Epcot, the Marketplace, it all just feels like home to me.

See - now I'm getting all excited and I have 3 months to wait!

It's funny - a few years ago when we were staying at the Grand Floridian we were at the Magic Kingdom in the afternoon before our Hoop dee Doo reservation. Our group split up and my husband and a few others (I think all of the men!) went to check out the Wilderness Lodge to check it out and the women and children went back to the resort to change (Pioneer Hall is always so cold!). My husband doesn't remember splitting up and keeps insisting that I have been to WL - and I keep countering with "I am pretty sure I would remember being there!".

I stayed at Yacht Club and loved it so I would pick Beach Club. Also, I love the pool.

We're booked at Beach Club for early Dec trip too and this is gonna be our 1st. What I really love about Boardwalk is the entertainment value and how lively it is. I was very contemplating but at the end I booked Beach Club. I know I won't be disappointed but I'm still nervous if I made the right choice :)

We fell in love with The Boardwalk, and then stayed at the Beach Club the following year to mix it up. We much preferred the Boardwalk. We didn't have any kids at the time, and found the Beach Club pool to be too overwhelming for us. I liked the quietness of BW pool. I also liked the theme of the BW better. But both are beautiful resorts, I don't think you could go wrong. =)

I'm a big fan of the 1940s boardwalk theming, my favorite resort. I enjoy the pool but can't help but think of the book/movie 'It' while I'm there. Conversely, the Beach Club makes me think of 'Jaws'. I'll let everyone decide for themselves which one creeps them out the most.:D

LOL oh my gosh - yes! The pool slide at the Boardwalk does look like Pennywise the clown!

If my memory serves, the Beach Club can sleep 5 (2 queens and 1 day bed). The Boardwalk only sleeps 4. Does this play a factor in your decision? We've always needed a resort that sleeps 5. Somehow we tend to travel in groups in multiples of 5.

I can only speak to the villas of both so I won't waste your time. As far as the actual resorts, I think a lot will depend on when you go. If you don't plan on swimming a whole lot my vote would be Boardwalk. Something about coming home everynight to the activities and atmosphere on the Boardwalk is quite nice. If you use the pool, Beach Club is great. Even at crowded times there is room to enjoy and relax. My only complaint about the pool area is that Hurricane Hannahs is not really easy to get to if you're on the other side of the pool. Christmas is pretty much the same at both, and do not measure up to Wilderness.

The one failing for Wilderness lodge is the location..

The Boardwalk (my personal favorite), Beach Club (Also great) and the Yacht Club (also great) form a powerfull trinity of goodness..3 Deluxe resorts and all their amenities at your fingertips..including a plethera of varied dining options, Clubs, shopping, pools, AND for me location...being able to walk to EPCOT in 5 minutes..10-15 if your at the Yacht CLub...or to walk to DHS..OR take a boat to either place is great..I like those options.. the rooms at all three are fantastic...so while I prefer Boardwalk.(waterview rooms..looking over the bay in the early morning or late at night is amazing)..and love the other 2 the centralized location wins out...the Wilderness Lodge is AMAZING..but loses out due to above comments

I mostly agree but the lobby? WL has a great lobby. AKL has a great lobby. But the BC?

Wilderness Lodge and AKL are my two favorite lobbies, but those a unique and very grand in theme and size. But I also really like Beach Club, Yacht Club, and the new Port Orleans Riverside lobbies, because they are just really pretty hotel lobbies.

In comparison to most hotels, I'd say the Beach Club lobby is really pretty. Maybe thats just me though, I love coastal and nautical things.
