Blue guns at MK

Rumors suggest the guns sold in MK will soon be changing color to bright blue.

Kind of sad that things have come to this. Last week I gave my 3 y/o my brown wooden pistol that was bought for my by my parents at PotC in Disneyland when I was 5 (28 years ago). It has no orange cap and looks somewhat like a flintlock. Sad commentary on our society when we have to worry about kids being injured by police because there are some kids who carry real guns.

I've actually been surprised they are still selling them at all... sad but a sign of the times.

oh well at least kids will always have their finger - pew pew pew! you're dead.

I always thought that was the point behind the blaze orange cap on the end of them. To show they were fake. What is to stop a kid from taking his blue gun and a sharpie and coloring it black? Not much.....

I've painted orange caps on the ends of all my real guns, so that when a criminal assaults me they get a surprise.

Those guns that you probably either own or have seen a small boy walking around with in the parks are going to be turning a bright blue over the next few months, so they won’t be easily mistaken for real firearms.

Well, we all know about the recent surge in crimes committed with the use of a flintlock pistol...

Yes, its scientifically proven that if you color a knife pink, a person would not be able to figure out that a knife could be dangerous to other people. Same goes for guns. You color them blue or green and people will now know they are harmless. :hammer:

Why oh why is it that the dumbest solutions are always put forward when it comes to perceived safety? Oh, that's right, that's because anti-gun nuts have no idea about guns in the first place other than GUNS KILL, NOT PEOPLE! :hammer: Blaming guns for killing people is like blaming a pen for spelling words wrong!

How about we paint all car bumpers bright blue or green? This way people will identify them clearly as "harmless toys" that you can safely disregard!! Why didn't I think of this earlier?!?!! I can save thousands of lives!! (me runs off to patent office....) :ROFLOL:

Anyway, since this topic is about guns....LET THE 20 PAGE HEATED ARGUEMENT BEGIN!!!!!!! :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:

On a related note: When I was in college (20 years ago), a few friends and I had bought some battery-powered water guns. The guns were all black and looked like small automatic guns. One day we decided to go to Stone Mountain to spend the afternoon/evening, and brought the water guns with us just for fun with no intentions of shooting innocent bystanders, just each other. After a while, we decided to grab a spot on the main lawn to get ready for the evening's laser show, and have a picnic. While we were sitting there, a park security officer comes up to us and asked to see the guns. Seeing they were just water guns, he asked that we put them away/hide them because neighboring patrons had reported concerns that we had real guns (just lying on the blanket in the open next to us :hammer:).
I think less than a year later, toy guns had to start being made with bright colors, or with bright colors on them.
Just one of those times you want to say "I hate stoopid people"

So it's your fault that toy guns have to be colors now, way to go!

Ah...that's probably why I noticed the little "pop" pistols in the PotC shop were all on clearance two weekends ago. Though they sport the bright orange tip, they are still in the slightly more realistic look category.

I've got a compilation of old commercials and clips from various music programs and movies. One of the commercials features toy guns that look "realer than real!" A shotgun, and a soldier's machine gun. In the commercial, cops take a look and are impressed with how real they look. :animwink:

I am guessing in time they'll do away with toy guns completely in the Disney Park stores. People will stop buying them.
