Or their kids. ;)

Seriously, my son sometimes goes to a paintball range with friends, and I've been invited along. I just feel uncomfortable shooting at him, or having him shooting at his mother, so I always decline.

I'm just not sure my parents would share your level of discomfort given the opportunity....:p

Let kids be kids and toys be toys. Whatever color they are.

And as a sidenote, I would never have been allowed to have a toy at the dinner table anywhere in the world, much less at Disney.

You should try it sometime…it might just be fun I am not a paint-baller myself, but I do play airsoft on a regular basis. My son just turned 12 last spring and was old enough to join me. I figured my wife might not go for it since the weapons are made to be as realistic as possible for the most part. Paint ball is usually done wearing bright clothes and such, but airsoft is more into actual dress and tactics of military or swat.

I am proud of my son…he treats his airsoft weapon as if it were an actual firearm. He has learned how to safely store, carry, load and point it. I offered to take him to the shooting range with me to fire a real weapon, but he told me he didn’t think he was ready for that yet.

Smart kid.

My 9 y/o has a spring airsoftish verision of a 1911 (that I keep when we are not using it). It looks and acts quite realistic. We practice with that, and she does the same thing. Allways treat the weapon as if it was loaded, never point it at anyting you do not want to shoot, etc etc etc.

She has been out to the trap range with me, and has shot shotguns with my help, but is also of the same mindset. She is going to wait till she is bigger. (her 7 y/o sister want me to get her a .410, she says she is ready, we are going to wait a while)

My personal opinion about the whole thing - I think the orange end on the WDW guns is enough. Just looking at them should tell you they are not real. However, I can also see how in a streesful situation anything can be mistaken for a gun. I have no problem with them selling toy guns of many colors. If thats their choice, then thats what they want to do.
