BLT & Treeshouse DVC Announced

They call DVC financing "Disney Secret Debt" it isn't reported to the credit bureaus as debt other than when they check your credit unless you are delinquent on your terms. I just had a full Credit Report done and I've owned a DVC since July and it didn't show just the original Credit Check.

I'm glad I didn't buy my points at AKL, I was just about to at the end of this week but I'll be buying here instead. :sohappy:

Lends new meaning to the moniker "Disney's Best Kept Secret"!

Dee Vee reminds me of Mary Kay using Avon products while under the influence of a controlled substance

Why do they have to call it the Magic Kingdom park :zipit:

"I'm going to Disney's Epcot them park center of amusements zoning property code 12!"

If you pay, great! They get your money. If you don't, they'll hassel you for a while, then take back their product and sell it to the next guy. Being that it's just paperwork, etc... There's nothing to "reposses". It couldn't be easier for them.

Let me guess, the repo people work for "Magical Recoveries."

Here's a link to some more photos of the new BLT. They seem a little different than the others posted. I originally posted this on the general discussion board but it was closed down because of this thread.

I was really against them building this tower. I still don't like the size of it, I feel it takes away from the original Contemporary Tower. But, I am impressed by the new photos I've seen of the rooms, etc.

The rooftop lounge sounds interesting. I guess we'll just have to wait and see it in person to decide what we think.

So based on the first pic, should I assume that the treehouse villas AREN'T going to be wheelchair accessible?

I have nothing to back this up... but I'm betting that might be part of why it's being lumped in with SSR. As a whole, they have more than enough accessible rooms when grouped together with the SSR buildings. But that's just a total guess on my part. I could see them offering comperable accomodations in the other buildings in place of these when someone calls. Maybe even Grand Villas, since the THV's sleep 9. It would have to be a GV to sleep that many in the regular SSR buildings.

Either that, or maybe a few of these will have a lift or an elevator in them.

Either way...

WHEN CAN I MAKE MY FIRST RESERVATION?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I'm LOVING these things. :sohappy::sohappy:

I don't think they are required to conform to the AWDA due to the date of the original construction permits. The new construction is considered remodeling of existing structures (sorry - not using official terminology), so not all current building codes apply.

When does the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort go on sale for non DVC? I know it says they go on sale Sunday but it that for everyone?

I would absolutely love a room in the Bay Lake Tower, particularly one overlooking the Magic Kingdom. Man, and I thought just staying at the Contemporary itself would be cool.....this new tower looks and sounds great.

My only problem is....why does Disney insist on using stupidly annoying characters in their presentations to announce new projects? 3 seconds into their You-Tube presentation with that "DV" and I wanted to punch the screen.

When I first saw the construction next to the Contemporary grow taller than the Contemporary itself, I was quite put-off. After today, I have to say I am very excited, and fully intending on buying in there once we get DVC!

The BLT goes on sale Sunday to DVC owners, and it's being reported that it will go on sale to the general public a week later. I'm pretty sure it was the same way for AKV... But DVCMike could tell us for sure.

Deevy See was hilarious in my opinion. Have no idea why they would use a character to promote a hotel, but I admit I cackled through the whole video. Maybe it's just my sense of humor, it's very much Streetmosphere style (and for all I know they used a Streetmo or Adventurer's Club actor to do it, which is likely), which is totally up my alley.

I love DVC, but the contemporary has never appeared contemporary to me (first trip was 1989) and they go and shoot themselves in the foot again by building another structure that will appear to be outdated as years pass by...

Sure, its not called a Contemporary DVC resort, but we all know it's their version...
