I mean, it IS possible that people like the movie. Pretty ridiculous to make that claim when you haven't seen it (though to be honest, I don't think you would admit if you did like it). Hate to break it to you (actual I don't), but The Woman King is based on the real African kingdom of Dahomey. So the overall story is a fictionalized retelling of real life events, but its no different than almost all stories based on real life events. To say its a work of fiction is completely inaccurate.

Much like that movie this one will tank in it's 3rd week.

And what if it doesn't tank in the 3rd week, what then? You going to come back here and say its "bots" buying tickets?

Why pay $15-20 a person to go watch it in the theater when I can wait a couple months and watch it at home for free?

Ill be surprised if this doesn’t pull in 20-25% less than the first movie purely due to D+.

Lovecraft absolutely deserves another season. Speaking of that show, I saw Wunmi Mosaku (actress who played Ruby on the show) at a cafe in Los Angeles two weekends ago. I told her she was an amazing actress. She’s so nice and has the cutest British accent.

Omg no way! She’s such a great actress, her storyline was one of my favorites on the show. I’m glad to hear she’s sweet. I was happy to see her pop up in Loki when it aired.

I wish I grabbed some napkins but I survived. I think there were three parts of the movie where my tears welled up.

And why would you say that?

The movie has already made almost $60 between domestic and overseas Wednesday/Thursday showings. So why is it hard to believe that the positive RT reviews are real people who genuinely liked the movie who tend to be the first to see MCU movies?

Also I find it funny that a majority of the positive reviews are from verified accounts, whereas a majority of the negative reviews I've found are from unverified accounts. You draw your own conclusions from that piece of information.

I used to take in a weekday matinee a couple times a month but haven’t watched a movie in the theater since 2019, as Prince said above the theater business is changing, every screen size increase and definition increase is another nail in the theater coffin.

My local theater had just replaced all their stadium seating with lazyboys in 2018 but I still prefer a 75” 4K screen with the ability to pause the movie for bathroom and snack breaks.

Avatar is tempting but at 3 hours I know I’ll never make it through the whole movie without a bathroom break and I hate missing 5 minutes in the middle of a movie.
