Bits of info from WDI

On the first page you say he confirmed there would be an attraction, but that they don't know what it is. Which is also very suspect. If there's gonna be an attraction they'd know what it's going to be by now, as it has to be approved in the budget.

I said that he confirmed that there are plans for an attraction he didn't confirm the attraction directly. Sorry for the misconception. And it makes sense that it isn't really far in the works by now because it is a totally different phase for the expansion. PH is part of Phase 2. Phase 1 I'm pretty sure is already done with. Phase 2 though, may still be in the works.

Not really. Phase 2 is still already in the budget. They know what's going to be built.

I'm not saying that there's not going to be an attraction in Pixie Hollow, or that Pixie Hollow won't happen. But if there is gonna be an attraction, they know what it is, and it's already been appropriated in the budget.

Because the budgets been set. That's one of the first things the bean counters do when a new project comes about, and rarely do they ever get bigger. Smaller, sure, but almost never bigger.

WDI knows what they want. They have their plans. It's the only way they ever could have gotten this accepted.

There's no way they went into a meeting with the execs and said, "Well we're gonna have some attraction here, but we have no idea what it's gonna be. Now how bout that money?" The execs would have looked at them like they're crazy.

I'm not blaming you on this, I know you most likely did talk to someone. I just feel like they're full of BS on the Pixie Hollow stuff.

Thanks for not blaming me. Well, who knows, I mean Chris Beatty did also confirm that a PH attraction of some sorts may be planned for PH but that it was early in development. But anyway, I would be really mad if they are BSing on this.

Not really BS'ing, but more PR'ing.

Sorry, but WDI doesn't take calls from fanbois and it doesn't give out any information regarding plans.

If someone indeed called they'd likely be forwarded to Guest Relations at WDW or even the D23 website.

People will believe anything.

Oh, and since NO RIDE has been announced for Pixie Hollow, I find it shocking that an Imagineer was willing to tell the OP that the ride is on.

Like I said, people will believe anything. I should start a life of crime ... it would be soooo easy!

74, don't you know you are allowed to hold that opinion UNTIL you call WDI for yourself?

What a bunch of insanity.

Ah, yes. And people don't give out their passwords to the corporate network or their bank account information to "Nigerian attorneys", either.

Let's be blunt: the OP is either (A) making this up, (B) was passed to someone in the PR department who regurgitated the party line or (C) spoke to someone in WDI who told them roughly what they knew (which is likely just a flavor of B anyway). Oh knows! The sanctity of this forum has been breached!

I'm guessing it's probably B or C. Either way, it's simply another data point in the ultimately futile quest to find out more about a project that will eventually be completed in some form or another, completely outside our control and knowledge, over the next 3-4 years.

As for 74, I find you an entertaining chap. One I usually find myself in close agreement with (save for what I vaguely suspect is a wretchedly naive political philosophy). All that aside, it's patently obvious to even the most casual follower of these fora that you have a vested interest in maintaining your status as some sort of tangential insider ("Eisner knows my name!") in order to keep the unwashed throngs perpetually swinging on your jock. And that's okay. Such things are the burbling fuel powering the bioreactors of the most entertaining messageboards on the 'net. But there's a pretty obvious conflict of interest here on your part.

There will be no need for the standard I'm-the-realist-just-telling-you-how-it-is-you're-blinded-by-pixie-dust-only-my-information-is-legitimate-and-I-only-share-it-because-I'm-bored-and-don't-give-a-****-take-it-or-leave-it response because I understand. What you apparently don't understand is that the OP was taking the same exact tact, but yet you chose to respond as though your turf had been encroached upon.

There's no need for you to mother/father the proles. And the rest will just take it for what it's worth anyway.

Thanks OP for trying to get to the source for info. Sorry it's turned into this thread though. As for Frank... we shall see if what he says is truth or if we've all been "hoodtinked" when they start on Phase 2. Unless more info is released by Disney themselves we will never know. Let's just leave it as a wait and see.

Thanks for the support and believing me to those that did believe me. I'm simply trying to contribute and all I did was post what I heard. And honestly if you don't believe in something or don't find it credible, why in the world post in that thread? Just putting it out there...

They don't?!??! ... Well, I'm gonna have to come up with a better plan.:drevil:

Let's be blunt:

Always.

Where was The Mom when we needed her? Hopefully, not out with a man who isn't The Dad!!!:D

I don't like to guess. Well, unless I'm playing Choice of Three. That's a way kewl game. I'm not gonna guess as to what the deal is/was with the OP.

I do know what protocol has been at WDI. They don't take fanboi questions. As to what really went down here ... I don't have a clue.

As for 74, I find you an entertaining chap.

Thanks. If I can entertain one person ... make one :) a day or a :ROFLOL:... or just a :D ... well, my day is complete.

One I usually find myself in close agreement with (save for what I vaguely suspect is a wretchedly naive political philosophy).

I'm glad you usually agree with me. That likely means you have at least half a functioning brain! ... I would love to hear what you believe my political philosophy is because I am many things, naive wouldn't be one.

Wow. For a newbie, you sure seem to have me figured out. That was one of the most entertaining 'personality profiles' anyone has ever done. I might use it in the future.

I sometimes wish fanbois knew more of my story ... then I read some of the stuff online and think ... well, let's not even talk about that. I'd hate for my elitist views to be taken the wrong way!

But I am bored ... and I don't give a **** ... as to the OP, I don't know what his/her deal may be. I have heard many funny stories online in my Disney fan days. Calling WDI and getting a mini-press briefing is a first.

That was my response. Not any turf issue.

It's akin to someone saying 'my busdriver Fred who was taking me from Port Orleans to MK last Tuesday told me ... and ... and you'll never believe ... and ... and I don't know if it's all true but' ...

I like to deal in the real.

But honestly, your post was amusing. So thanks! :)

Let me put this all in perspective.

At a press conference at D23, I asked a question referring to Toy Story Playland at the Walt Disney Studios park in Paris.

This is an attraction which, at the time, was well known to exist. We had seen blueprints. We had seen renderings. We has seen permits. We knew the attraction lineup.

The area was fenced off and actually under construction.

There was a construction wall around the area announcing what was coming!

And I asked a question because I didn't even stop to try and remember if they had actually "announced" it or not. I had seen the construction pictures! And guess what? I got shut down cold.

"We haven't announced anything for Paris."

This is a company that wouldn't confirm that it was building ANYTHING next to the Contemporary, when there was a giant high-rise being constructed in front of millions of guests!

And they're going to take random calls, and confirm projects that have barely been alluded to publicly, much less announced?

I wish it were true. But if it is, man have I been doing this wrong.

One dark day,in 1974 AD,a boy was born, that boy as we've come to know him is WDW1974. He was born in the middle of Death Valley and raised by a pack of wolves surviving solely on cacti. He wore nothing but the skin of an animal.

In 1984 AD he traveled with his wild pack,by foot to Florida for a family reunion with another pack. On their way they fought off lions and tigers and bears without even saying oh my.

On their way they stopped in WDW. The rest of his pack was killed. He has lived there ever since with only his great grandwolf surviving. He is known by the locals as " doom-and-gloomer" due to the horrible sound he makes that spreads doom and gloom throughout the land.

As you can see,he has quite the story.

He tells the story much, much better though. Very spirited rendition.
