I think they could have done so much more there before they opened it, even if it meant pushing the opening day back what!! What are other peoples thoughts:confused:

AK IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE PARK, but hey I can appreciate fine art as well ;)

Anyway, everyone is different. The great thing about Disney is that they offer for something for everyone. I don't like MGM doesn't mean it is a big huge mistake, it just means it ain't my thing.

Ha. Disney NEVER disappointed me! Except um, the long lines. On hot days. My favorite line of all is the Space Mountain line, because it has air-condition. And it is creative how you can see the people on the roller coaster! I love Disney World dude! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

nothing in WDW dissapiont me, atleast none I can think of, but there are things that bug me whie Im there.

TT when I first rode it, I was totally IMPRESSED, becasue what I really thought the ride was, was just it takes you around the building a couple of times and thats it. So when I saw all the stuff you had to do inside, I was like this is off the chain.

M:S absolutely loved it.

Mickeys philharmagic, I loved that too.

So not really anything I see dissapoint me, atleast not right now.

The Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management. Thank God the original still exists at Disneyland. Call it sweet nostalgia...

Biggest disappointment is coming to WDW for the first time ever in '99, looking forward to taking my picture in front of Spaceship Earth in all it's grand glory, and finding that darn construction of the 2000 hand going up. (I imagine people who went for the first time during the 25th anniversary got disappointed by that awful birthday cake thing.)

For me it still is Fantasmic. I just don't see in it the greatness that many others do. Whether it's becasue of my own personal preference or high expectations, it just fails to excite me the way other Disney productions do. I feel the current version at MGM is barely HALF the production it has the potential to be.
I agree Fantasmic at MGM was also a disappointment. But for me, it's because the Anaheim version is so much better. The way MGM is set up, you are so far away from the action. Anywhere you sit, it's like watching a play in the nosebleed seats. But at DL, even though its inconvenient to sit on the concrete or stand tiptoe, most areas you view from you are not more than 10 rows back, and the stage across the water is much closer as well because the waterway is not so wide. The fact that DL Rivers of America is a much better venue for Fantasmic than is the giant stadium of MGM makes a huge difference.

Also, the DL version has Peter Pan vs. Hook & crew on board the SS Columbia (doubling as Hook's ship) as it sails through the water w/ stunt guys falling from the masts and swinging across the stern and portside. I figure they didn't want to spend the cash to build a brand new pirate ship, so instead they replaced Peter Pan with the very static and unexciting Pocahontas battle.

Lastly, the DL version ends with all the characters riding the Mark Twain. So it's anticlimatic to see the MGM version w/ everyone on that cheap looking riverboat that has very little of the detail of the Mark Twain.

I have to agree that the Pocahontas battle scene is awful. Why have such a long part of your show dedicated to the animated film which was the beginning of the end for your animation studios.

Moreover, this is all about Mickey's imagination. Isn't a fantasy like Peter Pan more appropriate than a historically based scene?!

Just to clear things up, Pocahontas isn't technically historically based, because this story about Pocahontas is a legend. Disney did a fake story in the 2nd one because she never married John Smith(That's what happens, right?), but John Rolfe.

I've never been disappointed in anything at WDW.

I was a little upset when the dragon didn't come out during Fantasmic...but there's always this year's trip.

I was really dissapointed with the Land. Every time I go back I always skip it, I just hate going in there, it's so drab and boring, ugh...:brick: :brick:

I would say my biggest disappointment was the Imagination rehab the first time...what a horrible thing they did to a childhood favorite! :hurl:

I remember thinking that it was the worst thing they could have ever done....then they did dino-rama.....zoinks...was I wrong!

This may seem as an odd choice but, for me, the MK castle is a disappointment. Not visually. My disappointment stems from the fact that it is not an attraction per-se. It's just a glorified store & restuaraunt.

I can imagine a lot of people (kids especially) who have never been to the MK before running up to the castle expecting there to be some sort of B to E ticket ride hidden somewhere within it.

I remember the first time I walked up & thru it for the first time. I was both surprised & disappointed that there was really nothing neat to experience there (except for it's estetic value).

I gotta believe the imagineers could have come up with SOMETHING that could have made the castle not only an icon but a great attraction as well.

Walt was criticized for the castle not being anything other than an iconic structure to show that you have arrived in a kingdom of fantasy and magic. I am satisfied with it. It is sort of like a painting for me, you can't do much with a painting but display it and appreciate it.

My (our) biggest let down was the Restaraunt in Living Seas. We're from New Orleans and know how seafood should be prepared. We couldn't find one thing on the menu that sounded appealing AT ALL.

I think a castle walk through would be more than appropriate. Who wouldn't want to be up in those fiberglass towers overlooking the park...and backstage...oh

Not being able to ride old JII, Horizons,as they were removed by the time I visited WDW the 1st time. That and not getting to see Tapestry Of Nations in any of it's grand forms. On my 1st trip in 2000 we didn't see it because my mom isn't really into parades. But by the second trip last year, it was gone.

Mission Space and Animal Kingdom.

Mission Space- I really don't see what the hype is about. I was extremely disappointed.

Animal Kingdom- I don't know why, but everytime I go to Animal Kingdom I get depressed and feel closed in (not like World Showcase or MK). I think the paths and walkways are too small. Also, everytime we go to that park, we meet some of the rudest CMs. We've been yelled at and spoken to in a way we have never experienced at the other parks. We've never stayed there more than half a day.

Disney World rules!!

I think the biggest let downs were Mission: SPACE (sure, it's a fun ride, but not what I was expecting), Animal Kingdom (cool place, but it can be done in less than half a day and not many attractions), Journey Into Your Imagination (who doesn't think this was a let down), and Stitch's Great Escape. :)
