I'm not bitter in the least bit. Just discouraged with the number of "fans" who felt it necessary to take excitement from one person and crap on it and jam it in the OP's face. The funny thing is. First of all, I don't see a real flow of information. People here get all up tight about information. If someone with less than 1,000 posts gives it, red flags go up, but if you have been here a while everyone believes you for the most part. I mean people have stated it before that, even in this thread, that Disney intentionally gives out misinformation to get people excited. What does it matter if an "insider" divulges information. If a big ride or a new park or a new toilet is being installled at WDW, it shows up in the permits. You just have to know where to get information. So if Raven came out tomorrow and said Mythical Creatures at DAK starts construction in two months, the flow of info would stop? No, it would just take some one else the time to check the permits board. I think it would be noticeable. I just kind of thought that if someone heard a rumor, anywhere, from anyone, that this was the place to put it. Or am I wrong in thinking that people are allowed to put rumors here? Unless you are in the cliq!
Permits for work to commence are usually not filed until MONTHS after we already know what's going on, usually in exacting detail, so it's not as easy as taking a rumor from Raven or Martin and going and finding the permit.
I can't speak for others, but I personally don't look at post count as a way to judge. I doubt others do, either. Most of the time, I just use common sense. When you follow what goes on closely, usually common sense is all that is needed to have a pretty good idea about if a rumor has some teeth to it or not.
Now, I will admit that I put more weight on some posters words than others, but that's because they've earned it. They've given us good information time and time again. That doesn't have anything to do with their post counts... It has to do with their track record.
But if Raven tells us they're breaking ground on BK at AK, you can bet I'm gonna poke fun at him. :lol:
And I'm probably one of those "negative Nancies" you're speaking of... But to set the record straight, I LOVE WDW. Love it. That's why I'm here, and why I spend way too much time posting. :lol: But my love for WDW is not unconditional. I want the best for my home Disney resort, and I don't always think that's what's being done. I praise when it's warranted, and bash when I need to bash. I like a lot of things at WDW (HM, Splash, HoP, AA, etc), and don't like a lot of others (DDP, Yeti, SM refurb, etc).
Of course... People don't remember when I praise... They just latch on to when I bash. :shrug: Ah well.
I DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY.
