I would like to point out that the so-called "copyright issues" or "legal issues" around keeping the hat there are largely incorrect. The issues involve using the Chinese Theater as any sort of "icon" for the park on marketing materials. So that's why before the hat, most of the merchandise and such had the water tower as the icon. Inserting the hat in front of the theater and dead center in the park ensured it would become the new icon of the park, thus preventing Disney from having to pay for the rights to use the Chinese Theater facade in merchandise, collateral materials, etc.

yeah i honestly think they're going to put all their focus on dhs after the fantasyland expansion. but i dont think we'll see anything new until a few years after the FLE opens.

Absolutely. Just like any business out there, Disney has budgets. Sure, they could build tons of things all at once, but they need to stay above their means. They already do constant upkeep of places (painting, repairs etc), they are doing the Star Tours, FLE and the new resort. That's already a ton of money right there. When most of that is finished, especially FLE..they will start on other big projects, like Pixar Place.

I also do see a new land in AK, perhaps Australia (heard that rumor before), but that seems logical. But it won't happen next year, it may take 3-5 years.

We all know that when FLE is completely finished, it will be AWESOME. I can't wait for it. Yes, I am happy they went a new direction and its not all princess'. That was pretty weak, and I don't complain about anything. But they are very smart people, they seem to be figuring it all out. I can't wait for the Little Mermaid ride, I think it will be a very fun attraction, this Snow White Mine Car thing sounds very fun as well. (If it is in fact true)

I don't know how new you are on this site. But you have to understand that these forums are filled with the most negative disney fans I've ever seen. Don't even listen to any of them. Nothing can please these folks unless they get new big rides every 2 years and a new park every 5 years. For how much crap they talk on Disney, most of them still go to WDW all the time and still have a great time. Then come back home to come on here again till their next trip. Don't even bother with anything they say.

Yes, you probably could have Titled this Thread a little better. It wasn't technically "Big News", but if it's true that we will hear news on the FLE or anything else, that would be awesome. Just be prepared... about 2 minutes after you hear any official announcements, you will hear the complainers in full force yet again.

Without question, I think Pixar Place will expand. It will happen eventually. People just have to be patient. What most don't understand, it takes careful planning and time before you can start diggin and building. Being in construction for years, I know that project planning takes time.

That's really not the issue. We've become conditioned on this site to question "new people" that bring "insider info" because the vast majority of the time, it's nothing more than a kid trying to stir stuff up. And that gets OLD... In fact, I can't recall the last time someone with very little history on the site has brought big info that turned out to be accurate.

Those of us that have been here for a long time have a nose for sniffing out when someone is shooting us straight. Reputation here seems to be EARNED, not inherantly given. And we should all be happy about that, I think... It keeps this site as one of the most reliable and best as far as news and accurate info.

And I'm not commenting on the validity of the OP or what they posted (although I have my opinions)... I'm just speaking about the overall reaction that you often see on this site.

If someone has a "rumor", they should feel free to post it. People will judge it based on what they know, and people will comment. No one should get upset with anyone for commenting. There's nothing wrong with shooting rumors down. It helps keep the site accurate and the most reliable... Just like there's nothing wrong with positive reactions.

This is a DISCUSSION board, after all. Not everyone will agree with everything that's said. That would make for a pretty boring discussion (which would ALSO make us the DIS). :lookaroun

This post sums up my feelings entirely.

A lot of people are rebuffing the news itself, as a lot of it has previously been proved wrong, and not the OP. Sometimes, if you aren't a regular reader, it's hard to tell the difference.

This has clearly turned into a trolling situation. When the battles slow down, we get the 30th post reclarifying what the BIG NEWS is.

Like the DCA projects, there are official updated announcements every few months. FLE is just like that. It will probably be updated officially 2-3 more times. It is a big project destined to change.

Pushing bragging rights that there will be an update of progress in the near future with some vague maybe answers to other questions over and over and over serves only to either stroke your ego by increasing post count in this thread, or just to keep baiting other members and causing an unnecessary wedge.

Suck it up. Your thread title is misleading to draw people in and guess what -- some people called you out. Shockingly -- the OP knew that would happen.

The problem is that you keep insisting that you posted SOMETHING, when in fact you posted NOTHING. It was all canned responses, and possibly even a bit of lying, from somebody who most likely does not know anything, and if she does she is going to know better than to tell you.
