They seem to be having some issues (or just incompetence) with the lighting systems in the park. The entrance pathway lights and fountain lights have remained on the entire day for about a week now. The colored spotlights on SSE have been completely off for a few days now, even at night. Not to mention there are now close to two dozen of the LEDs that are either out, too dim, or miscolored. (about 10 of them consistently flash random colors when they’re supposed to be off, almost like lights you would see on tall buildings. One in particular has had the starburst effect out for about 15 months now.) A few of the new light poles all over former Future World just don’t ever turn on at night, making it quite dark. Over by JoW, the floor lights under the two tall palm trees in between JoW’s entrance and the Moana M&G have been off since they were installed, making it dangerously hard to see in that particular area (there are no other lights present). All of this to say that there must be some seriously incompetent or just plain oblivious people currently in charge of these sorts of things in the park to have this stuff happening and be unaddressed for so long. It’s frankly ridiculous.
The Fountain of nations is haunting them

Sincerely this is very sad to hear. What a mess this EPCOT (renovation?) this continues to be. Very sad.

Agreed. I keep hoping the negligence is because they're rushing to the finish line and want to hit a lot of things for a maintenance pass right before December 5, but frankly, the SSE lights need maintenance 2-3 times more frequently than they're allocating at the moment.

I’m genuinely curious why the lights are messing up so often, a lot of it seems like it might be software related. Also, there’s an article where they straight up explain that the lights were created with ease of maintenance in mind, and that they were installed specifically in a way that would make repairs/replacements very easy, which further begs the question of why repairs generally aren’t being done.

"Ease of maintenance" = less maintenance staff in Disney's view

I have a feeling CommuniCore hall and plaza won’t open until some time next year, and all we’re gonna get this December is the main part of world celebration. IMO that would make what they’ve said so far pretty much false advertising at this point

I wasn’t going to bend over a take a photo of the flooring, but I chuckled at the thought of it, so figured why not give everyone passing by someone to make fun of on their way out the park.

While I was down there, rubbed my hand over it and the metal is not smooth at all, almost feels like a rough concrete, so really don’t expect it to become a trip hazard.

Yes, you can apply sealants to Corten to mitigate staining and further corrosion.

There’s still potential for failures in the seal but, I suspect they’ve been monitoring the grates over this past year. They’ve been installed behind the walls for a while now.
I seriously hope they are sealed and wont cure to what corten usually does which just looks like pure rust like this bridge in Glasgow, Scotland which is 'cured' corten steel:
