I mean, I agree that some people blindly approve of everything, but others endlessly rehash all the things that are wrong with this project, to the point that it’s difficult to discuss updates or express anticipation about anything. Like, saying that you’re glad there will be some seating shouldn’t have to result in a series of posts shrieking that “IT’S BEEN FIVE YEARS.” We know. No one said they were happy with the speed at which the seating was being built, just that they are happy the seating will exist.

Also all the comedians who post that Epic Universe will be done before this.

wow haha original

Hey, if you're excited that you will get a few seats after they spent countless millions making the entire front of Epcot a construction zone for half a decade, tearing out the fountain, etc., that's awesome.

I'm sure Disney management appreciates your incredibly low expectations and continued patronage.

I'm not sure how you could read that comment and come away with this as a response.

Why would think it meant he was excited about the whole project or that he thinks it was all worth it?

This fall, as stated. Multiple times. Certainly not into 2025.

Cool it with the passive aggression. Some people...

Anyways..I saw the finishing date for Moana, not the rest. EU is coming in just two years. If any EPCOT construction were to go into 2024, I'd call that close, but if not then sure, the two aren't close.

Tone is difficult online. Apologies.

Anyways, EU isn't going to open Jan 1 2025, either. If any Epcot construction does go into 2024 (unlikely) it still would put around 18 months of time between them, or a metric Anniversary Celebration Unit (ACU).

No worries, lol. Yeah if everything is done by the end of the year I'd suppose the two projects aren't too close in proximity to one another.

Thank you. As I have said many times, I am not happy with how the money was spent. That doesn't mean I can't like some things independent of the admittedly worrisome context surrounding them. I don't need a stern reminding of that context every single time an update or vaguely positive comment gets posted.

We are visiting at the end of August, I’m mildly hopeful that they might have journey of water done by then but the rest of the development looks way off. Where Disney are saying fall for opening are they talking bout the whole lot or just the journey of water element?

Unless I’m mistaken, I believe they’ve only confirmed that Journey of Water is opening this fall. I believe they did make an announcement that the other central spine stuff would be done by the end of the year but I can’t remember exactly

Thanks, yes thats kind of where my head was at and (at best) aligns with the pictures of progress. Just trying to manage my own expectations :)😩

Surprised that disney updates on the wider developments seem fairly silent and thats the bit I’m personally looking most forward to opening up again. So many great memories of evenings in that central area.

In a presentation today, Josh D’Amaro said that EPCOT will play a major role in their spending of 17 billion dollars at WDW over the course of 10 years…

Hopefully this means Phase 2 of the overhaul will happen?

Regardless, things like Spaceship Earth 5.0 absolutely need to happen in the next few years.

Spaceship Earth, Imagination, Wonders of Life, an interior refresh of The Land & The Seas, and 1-2 new things in World Showcase are all pretty necessary to the long-term health of the park.
