The secondary pathway from World Showcase to the Western side of Future World was widened just in time for a whole bunch of booths lining its path heading toward The Land.

So at this point are there any(even small) attractions, M&G, entertainment planned within the monorail loop? I realize the communicore buildings are a shell of their former selfs, but it would be nice to have something "to do" in this area once the renovation is complete...other than maybe eat, drink & shop. :(

I think the “story-telling” fountain is considered an attraction by Disney. 😕 You also will have some MnG space on the other side of the Moana water walkthrough. However that is outside of the monorail loop.

Very surprised they’ve not pushed for rat to open for early next year. Going to hard for many to justify a trip to Epcot at the expense of another park early next year with Spaceship Earth down & construction walls everywhere.

Am I the only one who can’t stand the Walt statue?

It’s stupid and insulting. First of all he had nothing to do with Epcot center the theme park, yes it’s sitting in the same location and uses the name of the futuristic city he wanted to build in Florida but that’s it. Walt didn’t design it as a park, he didn’t come up with the concepts of future world and world showcase in fact he had minimal to do with Walt Disney world as a whole since he unfortunately died during its early development.

First Disney completely disrespects the concept and idea of Epcot by turning it into yet another magic kingdom/studios park with movie rides and then throws in a Walt statue as if to say “this is exactly what Walt would have wanted”.

Remind me to flip the bird back at the bobs if i ever run into them.

I appreciate this view, but I personally don't share it.

Epcot the theme park was made to embody some of the ideas that Walt Disney most valued, such as exploration and innovation aimed at improving life for all humankind. As such, for me, as statue of Walt belongs in Epcot more than any other park besides Disneyland.

“Exploration and innovation” such as forcing cartoon tie ins into an attraction about the history of human communication and a guardians of the galaxy roller coaster

As wonderful as the diorama was, why was it in the attraction?
The Guardian's Guard the Galaxy.
Dinosaurs had little to do with fossil fuels, they just happened to be around when some were formed. And fossil fuels aren't the only form of energy. So again, why did dinosaurs dominate this pavilion?

"The formation of fossil fuels occurred over a span of millions upon millions of years. Much of the Earth’s present supply was deposited during the primeval era, when great reptiles roamed the land. Come with us now, and experience a few moments in that dark and mysterious place..."

Yes, I am all-too-aware that several of the new attractions and attraction-updates are not in furtherance of Epcot’s theme. It’s very unfortunate, though sadly not unexpected.

As it happens, though, they are attempting to strike a balance with the redesign that takes Epcot’s theme into consideration, even if not as much as we’d like.

Also, luckily it doesn’t look like SSE is currently planned to have an explicit IP tie-in.

Disney magic doesn’t mean Disney actually does magic. Disney just can’t do exploration and innovation. They don’t own the concept.
