Correct me if I’m wrong, but..

2023: Tron new
2024: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure replacement
2025: Moana in Animal Kingdom (since it’s “relatively humble”) replacement
2026: Pandora Expansion w accompanying Disneyland attraction new
2027: Zootopia in Animal Kingdom replacement
2028: Coco/Encanto in “Beyond Big Thunder” new
2029: Something for Epcot? TBD
2030: Something for HS? TBD
Moana technically wouldn’t be a replacement since Primeval Whirl is long gone, but else than that, very accurate.

Universal doesn’t stand a chance, what with the irrelevant fad IPs they seek to include, like Super Mario and Pokémon. Ha. Imagine thinking those have more pull with children than Zootopia!
Well, considering two of the rides they are building in the Nintendo area kind of stink I would say they aren't off to a great start. The Donkey Kong coaster still has a chance to be good but we'll see. In the end, it doesn't matter if an IP is good if you build junk. Something you would think both Universal and Disney would have learned by now.

Both Universal and Disney seem to have learned, “if you build a coaster, they will come.”

You know what's funny?
I'll be honest. I don't get the appeal of Villainsland. I struggle to even envision what it would look like. Is it just dark Fantasyland? If so, what do you do with the non-fantasy villains?

Just posted these movie sets for fun...to show one vision that ended up on the screen
Yes....my attempt at sarcasm may have been too effective (although I stand by my underlying sentiment).

Obviously Walt's way and worldview doesn't always translate well into the 21st Century so do what Walt would've wanted isn't always the answer. I mean, the man had to be convinced that a roller coaster in the park wasn't a bad idea.

We also have entire parks now that are essentially designed to look weathered in many respects, including Animal Kingdom and areas like Galaxy’s Edge. I do agree that Magic Kingdom should be insulated from that, but it’s not inherently a terrible idea. I’d expect a villains’ land to be mostly sharp rockwork and brambles anyway given current trends in the parks.

I don't expect much from the Donkey Kong coaster either. Based on the plans, it appears to be extremely short. It also looks like the few interior scenes it has will probably be conveyed through video projection. The show building's rooms look too narrow to fit much physical scenery.

The scenery of the land itself will probably provide most of the scenery of the ride. I'm getting 7DMT vibes from this. And while I hope the exterior is at least superior to 7DMT (wouldn't be hard to top that as the exterior of 7DMT is quite bland), I don't really have much hope that the interior scenes will be anything special. And this is coming from a massive DKC fan who grew up with the SNES games and always figured the mine cart levels could make for a great theme park ride. So far though, I haven't really been impressed with anything i've seen from Super Nintendo World.

”Jumping” tracks should at least be fun. Why is everything Nintendo so tiny and cramped, though?

To be honest, i'm getting tired of both Disney and Universal always trying to invent new ride systems (or substantial spins on existing ones). Especially when so much of the budget and R&D seems to go into that at the expense of a more meaty experience with quality scenery. DKC in particular has always been known for its lush detailed visuals. I'd rather they had just allocated the money and development on creating a longer experience with an emphasis on bringing the game's characters and scenery to life instead of the track jumping illusion (which I don't expect will have much of an impact outside of extremely young children with not concept of how a ride works).
