i've been to wdw numerous times throughout my life but i have only ever been during value season. don't get me wrong, going when it is the least crowded is great but i wonder if i am missing out on some of the special events and weekends. is there a certain special event that you think is a must see? such as star wars weekends, flower and garden festival, etc.

That's a hard one. I enjoy several of the special events including MNSSHP, Flower and Garden, and MVMCP. But my favorite two are SWW and Food and Wine.

I've been to most of the special events at WDW - some are better than others. Seeing the parks during the holidays is, IMO, the best. I love the Spectacle of Lights at DHS, the Candlelight Processional at Epcot & Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at MK. It was one of my favorite trips ever. :)

If you're really into Star Wars, that weekend might be fun for you. I'm not into it, so I avoid it. Also the ESPN Sports weekend was cool but I don't know if they still do it or not. I don't recall seeing anything about it the past couple years. My DH is a sports fanatic, so we had fun at that.

Food and Wine, hands down :sohappy:! Not only is it a great festival, but it also has the advantage of being during the fall season, which is a great time of year at the World. And there's the added bonus of going to MNSSHP during the same trip if you so choose.

The Christmas Party coupled with the holiday season at the entire resort is number 1 for me.

I have been to the Flower & Garden festival twice, and both times it rained so bad that I could not enjoy it. A lot of the exhibits were closed. But unless you like flowers, its really not fun.

I love the first weeks in December, when the Christmas decorations are up, there are special events (Epcot Candlelight Processional, Osborne Family Lights, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party), the weather is normally mild and the crowds are light.

It's very, very tough. My two favorite times are Food and Wine and the Holidays. If I were only going to one park, it would be to Epcot for Food and Wine. If I were going to multiple parks, I'd go during the beginning of December to catch the decorations and shows at Epcot, MK and DHS (not to mention the fantastic displays at the resorts).

I've never actually been to Food and Wine, but the family I have that has been there tell me it is a great experience. I think it is the best of the annual celebrations I've gotten feedback on. Definitely go if it is within your power!

We just went to our first Star Wars Weekend and had a blast, despite the heat and crowds. We also usually go during quieter times of the year, but this was a special trip just for Star Wars Weekends since we were going to be at the beach in Florida anyway during that time.

Future trips we will go back to quieter (and cooler!) times of the year, but we were glad we did Star Wars weekends once. So if you are a Star Wars fan, you really need to go sometime!

The Flower and Garden Festival is nice, and it is during a time of year where you can still go when it is not too crowded.

Tough question, I've never been at Christmas, but we did make it for New Years and got to see the lights (but missed CP), MNSSHP and F &W festival are alot of fun, but the Flower and Garden Festival is wonderful. Epcot looks amazing and there is so much to do. MY opinio you can't go wrong with either fall or spring.
