Being a Disney Influencer

"El Gran Magnifico"

DFB is one of the least click-bait Disney sites I have seen. Are you sure you aren't thinking of Disney Dining which is ITM level click bait?

I know these things are subjective and there is no "right or wrong" answer.

But to me when I see videos presented in this way with titles like: "Why People Aren't Eating in DW Restaurants" or "Things that SHOCK DL Guests".

It just screams clickbait to me.

I think at a minimum they have to do quite a bit of editing, which is certainly time consuming, although not “hard” in the sense that it’s not paving roads in the hot sun. And some of the more ambitious channels - DFB and Mammoth Club for example - put up content all over the place (online guidebooks, Discord channels, podcasts, etc.)

I guess I’m a little sympathetic because I think of how frigging time consuming and boring putting together a single PowerPoint presentation can be. The process of thinking up good material and the detail work of actually making it. Doing that for hours and hours a day wouldn’t be tons of fun I imagine (although again, it’s not exactly doing construction in the hot sun either.)

I was going to add the part about editing. I think that takes longer than what I would think. I like ResortTV because they don't appear to be narcissists, have full-time jobs aside from vlogging, and are fun to watch. I don't watch all the streaming events they do as I get a little tired of them saying hello to everyone online. That's my fault, not theirs. PagingMrMorrow is usually enjoyable and 4k WDW is also good.

I have thought about if I would do something similar if I lived in Florida and there is no way. I want to enjoy the parks and not have it be a job. I already get impatient when my spouse is taking a minute to take a picture of something. So, having to shoot content, edit it, and figure out new content would get tiresome after a while. Also, I couldn't trust myself to not say something insulting about people who walk four across and block an entire pathway or those who do the same with double-wide strollers filled with six year olds.

I can understand that, but it doesn't bother me because it pales in comparison to things like this:

I imagine there is a difference between people who do some vlogging as a part of their channel / business, and those who do it exclusively as well.

DFB feels far too "in Disney's pocket". Maybe it's just me.
I don’t think they fawn over Disney or anything - but hard hitting analysis is not their focus. They’re more of a planning and general information site. They will do things like list pros and cons for different resorts, restaurants, etc. And I appreciate that they are more kid focused than some of the channels, because there’s surprisingly little emphasis on trip planning with a child on most of the Disney YouTube videos.

The only hard part for an influencer is to be entertaining every single stream/video. Pointing a camera and going hey how ya doing isn't hard work at all.
I mentioned this the other day: I can’t imagine how exhausting it is with the pressure to both produce content and be the content.
