When I visited Disneyland this summer, I took a side trip to Hollywood and texted my mom a pic of the Chinese theatre.
She wrote back "Where is that...Disney?" :lookaroun
Say that one again, por favor? :veryconfuDang.
How influenced is your Mom by you in Disney, then?
Say that one again, por favor? :veryconfu
How much of what she knows about it comes from me, you're asking?
No worries...wanted to make sure I responded to what you actually said. :lol:Yes.
And yes, that was a horribly constructed post, grammar wise.:brick::lol:
I was wondering the same, so I yahoo'ed it and it is inappropriate for this site. BAH "big (-noun - a long-eared, slow, patient, sure-footed domesticated mammal, Equus asinus, related to the horse, used chiefly as a beast of burden) hat".
Well, in that case, it works. I really do doubt that it's thought of like that....seeing that Disney did do something about it.No worries...wanted to make sure I responded to what you actually said.
A good deal of it, I'm sure. She visited once or twice when I was on my CP but other than that, my parents haven't been since I was a kid.
I just think it's funny Disney blurs the lines between itself and the "real" world for some people. If everyone were like my mom, then I might agree with Servo about the CT.
No love for the Earful Tower, Jer?:lookarounTear down BAH and that dumb 'earful (yuck.. I HATE saying that) tower'.
No love for the Earful Tower, Jer?:lookaroun
Interesting.:lookaroun Do we have reasons why?None. Not a fan. :dazzle:
And that stupid little topiary of it on the backlot tour sux to. :lookaroun
Interesting.:lookaroun Do we have reasons why?
And...seeing that you hate both BAH and ET, what is a better Icon for DHS?:lookaroun:lol:
The theater facade :king:
I
Seriously, though...It would work, but I still think that it needs to be more identifiable for DISNEY and it's brand. That's the only problem.
Yuck.
Never say the word "Brand".
As in "It GROWS the BRAND..."
Execuspeak.
That's what I think too. The Matterhorn got mentioned earlier, so I gave it some thought to compare the two. I think the MH works as an iconic structure — but if it were the central weenie at DL, I don't think I'd be wild about it, since it is a representation of a real-world place.Seriously, though...It would work, but I still think that it needs to be more identifiable for DISNEY and it's brand. Same with the CT. For me, it works as one of many, but not The One. Like I said earlier, I think Studios has several icons, but no singular Icon®.
Si, Chinese Theater.Exactly.
What is CT, though? Chinese Theater?
And I think all the parks have many icons....and in that, they are weenies.
Si, Chinese Theater.
You're right, the parks all have multiple icons...but only 3 of them (in my opinion, anyway) also have an undisputed Icon.
seeing that WDI didn't put a defined "THIS IS THE ICON" icon in from the beginning.
