My lit teacher recently went to Disney and brought back pictures. Well she had a pic of her daughter and an Ariel in the Princess dress attire. Not her fin. But she looked AWFUL. She was so tan and it blended in with her hair. Has anybody else had this experience and just wondered why the girl was chosen for that princess ? Post pictures!

Yeah, we had a similar experience last December at the Princess Storybook dinner at Epcot. Princess Jasmine was not cast well at all.

I wouldn't recommend posting pics, though, b/c there are lots of CM's on this site who either may know one of the Princesses in the pictures, or the Princess could see the photo themselves. I know I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

I've only seen a couple of Princesses who weren't great. Almost every one I've every seen was AWESOME. Ariel seem to be the toughest. I think it's because her hair in the movie is so HUGE and cartooney. Also she has huge eyes in the movie. Very hard to get a perfect Ariel. I've seen so many PERFECT Snow Whites, Cinderellas and Jasmines. The best I've ever seen wasn't a princess. It was MARY POPPINS. She looked and acted so perfect. My DD loves Mary Poppins and go to spend about 15 minute by herself with her and it was as if we were actually in the movie! So if you spot one who isn't perfect. give 'em a break. It's gotta be hard to look so perfect and act so perfect and smile so nicely for that long. I think they do a great job!

We didn't have the best Belle the last time we ate at Cinderella's Royal Table. She didn't quite look the part and she had no answer to my question of "What books are you reading?" Her conversation was just so... blah... and the character Belle is one of the most passionate princesses. She definitely didn't have the "magic."

I wouldn't post a picture, but I don't think we even took one with her anyways, we were so let down.

We always notice Mulan is never cast very well. He's not a princess, well not really anyway, but Peter Pan is sometimes rather, well not very Peter Panish.
One of the best has always been Pochohantas, shes always seems to be cast well. I personally always think Jasmin and Arial are always cast just superbly...theres never a shotage of Dad's wainting in those 2 lines it seems to see the wonderfull casting job...

I think a lot of it has to do with change...people come, people go. So they have to do the best with what they have.

There are some that have maybe physically changed since being cast, which might explain things.

On the whole, I think all the Disney Entertainment performers do an unbelievable job. Its a lot more involved than most people think, and they really do deserve a lot of credit.

Big thanks to everyone in entertainment who adds so much to the magic!! :sohappy:

See I would think Pochohantas would be very easy to cast b/c she doesn't have any particulary focused on facial features in the movie, at least not in my opinion. Plus there are alot of hispanic people in FLA, that is not a racist remark I'm just pointing out a sector of Florida's population, and alot of people could probably could not really tell that a person is hispanic or that they're native american because the skin tones are quite similar. But then again I could be completly wrong....

Princess Aurora

Last October we had breakfast with the Princesses in Norway. Princess Aurora was not very good. I can't blame the CM who portrayed her but the costume was not flattering at all. Her wig was so fake looking and her make-up was over done. My DH said "who's that ?"when she was coming towards the table. When I told him, he was like "really???".

The best was Snow White at the Princess breakfast. She looked and sounded just the movie! She was great.

Though being a regular their are times some princesses do not look their best, maybe they woke up on the wrong side of the bed

The princesses don't get nearly enough credit and kudos they deserve. They are always calm and composed when any situation pops up around them. It is amazing to watch.

I think that we are hyper critical of small details, because we appreciate and cherish them more than an 'average' guest. If your princess looks a little off, then take a moment to appreciate all of the excited little ones around you.

ehhh...not necessarily...I'm 100% Puertorican and I have fair skin. Besides having similar skin tones doesn't mean they look alike.
