My problem with characters in general (well, the English ones anyway) is their accents! They look so good...then they start to talk and the illusion is shattered! I'm English, you see, and I've never understood why characters such as Peter pan, Mary Poppins, Alice etc are not played by English people.

I'd be more than happy to volunteer...

I don't think Peter Pan had an accent in the Disney movie.
I thought Mary Poppins was great when I met her, though you would be a much better judge of her accent. She was very "nanny-like" to me and DH, telling him, "Stand up straight, young man. Don't slouch."

I wouldn't expect her to know Mandarin as I wouldn't expect Snow White to know German nor Belle to carry a conversation in French. I DO expect Belle to be able to name a book title though! At least one!

I completly agree! They don't need to speak the language, but they do need to be able to think on their feet a little and talk like the character would. Belle should have an answer about her favoriate book. If nothing else, she could have said, "I love all the classic fairytales" or SOMETHING!

I know when my daughter met Kim Possible and Ron she asked them where Rufus was and Ron told her "He had a big lunch at Taco Bueno so he's at home taking a nap." Perfectly in character!

Here's a pic of a GREAT Cindy and Prince.

Ok I am biased.
I am always blown away by the face characters. They are fab, although some of them need a new do, Sleeping Beauty's hair could use some work. My kids are always so memsmerized by them it is so sweet to watch.
On our last trip I did ask Arieal if she had seen her cousin Herclues and she told me yes, at her last family dinner. HAHA she was right in on the joke and I DID not trip her up! She was fab, my DD wanted to get high fin from everyone for the rest of the week.

For me, it would be a little strange to meet CM's playing characters from live action films. Meeting any Mary Poppins other than Julie Andrews (or any Giselle other than Amy Adams for that matter) would just be weird.

I have to say that DDWendy has had some great experiences with Peter Pan and Captain Hook over the years! When they've heard me call her by name, they've immediately interacted with her...Captain Hook even chased her down! Wendy looked over her shoulder at the sound of pounding feet and screamed bloody murder! :ROFLOL:(And she was 17 at the time!) I LOVE the characters!

That photo is so cute! What a great princess... though she doesn't seem to interested in her prince just yet. (That's a good thing, I bet!)

I never actually have a problem with a face character before, although they can be a little off at times. Most of times though, they are a great as they can be.

WDW Giselle's are WAY better looking and better animated than Amy Adams.

How about we post photos of face characters we think were spot on.

Entertainment went through a period where they were a bit lax on their standards. They are getting much better. When looking at photo of a princess's profile, I really have to examine the photo to figure out who her friend is. I've even got it wrong once or twice. Now facing head on, I can tell the difference, but profile and part of the face obscured by a hug...it is hard sometimes to tell.

It seems as if Belle's friends have been allowed the most diversity. But the diversity seems to be moving to Jasmine. Jasmine has some amazing friends, but then there are others.....

I think the face characters are great! Ok they may not be perfect but who ever lives up to your expectations in person from a movie?

I think they are all magical and should all be given alot of credit!

Ok If there is a CM out there who played Mulan a few yrs ago i have to apologize for my son who was 2 at the time! OMG I was mortified he grabbed um her um ! I turned 6 shades of red but she was wonderful she was holding him and still smiled and let us take the picture!

though being a Mickey lovers there s something about seeing Mickey that turns me into a little kid!
