Back to Reality

:( Well....... I am back in reality ......... back from my home away from home and I am so very sad and home sick:(

We were in WDW at the Caribbean Beach resort from 9/6 until yesterday @ 10am then on to the plane back to New York.

Our family trip was our best yet, wouldn't change a thing except try to increase the amount of days... you always feel you need more time to do ALL the things you want to do.

We were not able to rent the sea raycers or play mini golf or go swimming enough..... but because my daughter finally met the height requirement for Splash M, BTMR, Soarin....... and was a whole year older we did so much more in the parks and found ourselves needing more time because we were having so much fun on everything.

We had great weather, with the occasional shower- to be expected and did not dampen our spirits or fun. Disney Cast Members we encountered from hotels to restaurants to attractions to shops were all wonderful.

I was surprised how crowded it was for the first week in Sept. and how many parents kept or took their children out of school so early in the year for vacation- though our wait times were not so bad. I think the word is out about Sept. and the 0 min. wait times I experienced 2 years ago are a thing of the past.

We had a great time- many great memories - though we were there for 7 nights I wished it was more- I am so home sick but grateful for the time I had.:)

Glad to hear that you had a great trip. I know the feeling when the reality of being home sets in. But you can always look forward to planning your next trip. :)

Glad you all had a great vacation!! Now its sound like its time to look forward and start planing the next trip so you have something to look forward to!!!! I have to say I was one of those parents who took the kids out of school in September...only when they were in elementary school..once middle school came around we did the crowds. It was all about what we could afford back then. Money talks.

That back to reality feeling is the worst. I too suffer a post Disney depression whenever I come back,
I want to hear about the food. Where did you guys eat? Any new places this year that you really liked?

Zurgandfriend, we should start a support group. I am often too sad to come back to the boards and hear about the upcoming trip of others.
We can have meetings (that don't conflict with my deluxe resort snob meetings) and talk about our trips and how great the world is.

I'm a deluxe resort snob as well so we can combine meetings.

I can feel your pain! We also returned on Sunday from a week long trip. It is always hard to get back into the regular routine of life after a week of hectic fun.

We were also surprised by the amount of people out there. I think the absense of It's a small world really affected crowds in Fantasy Land, Pooh was already backed up after 10:00 in the morning as was Peter Pan. In past Septembers we had definetly walked onto Pooh much later into the day, and also the dreaded Snow White. There were definetly more people walking around as well, mostly I'm guessing South American (not exactly sure where they were from) and England. I think Disney is really filling up slower times of year with the worldwide market and all the various deals. I think your right about the secret being out. For us, this might be our last September visit, not because of the crowds, but because of the weather, just too hot and muggy for us!

It was warm, but we had a hot summer in NY this year which made it easier to tolerate.- I just notices an abundance of children, older children, high school, junior high, Monday the 6th was great in the MK- after that the world started to fill up again - ?? oh well -- better than the summer, right????

My family was in WDW little over 2 weeks ago and I am still having a hard time adjust to normal routine.

We where there Aug. 28th - Sept4th and we found the crowds to be easy. The only park ride we had issues with was TSM in DHS it was a 120 min wait all other rides were no more than 20min.

That shrimp is incredible!

Glad your trip went well. I must say I'm glad it's over though. That means I am 7 days closer to mine.

I hate that feeling when you on your way back home. We usually stop at a grocery store on the way home. I think that is when it kicks in for me that my vacation is over.
