Avengers Endgame Spoiler Discussion

60% drop? I’m not so sure about that.

I don’t see Pikachu carrying that big of a stick...

Remember that endgame had the largest number of sold out shows - I believe - ever. So a lot of people got shut that will spill over for at least a week.

And I saw one Hollywood wonk today saying this may get the biggest number of repeat views (second viewings) ever...

And I might remind there were space geeks that saw Star Wars 54 1/2 times by 1979

I just thought of something from your story which is the same as mine.

This is pretty much the same thing future generations will hear about just like how mine hears the stories of when people saw A New Hope when it first came out.

Star Wars got that because of ILM...special effects didn’t exist before it.

What MCU is gonna be remembered for is the continuities and development of characters. 50 some hours worth...or two seasons of a television drama.

It’s LOTR times 5 or Harry Potter times 3....

And good Star Wars tikes 6 or 7...

I hate to get emotional...but this is one of those moments in time. Some things have the gravity of Jupiter

While we were waiting to get into 10:00 am Friday 3D showing (had tickets) overheard a group of 4 looking for any weekend showing to sit together- they had to bump to the following Saturday. It was a 15 theater and almost all screens dedicated and running it almost non stop.

...so what you’re saying is: it’s good even though it isn’t as millennial friendly as ragnarok??

🤪...I’m kidding - sort of.

I walked out of 7 saying “I liked it...I really liked it....gonna see it tomorrow though...”

I done almost cried ugly old man tears after endgame...a complete rush of relief...no words.

I think there’s a lesson there.
Yeah, I admit I was a mess too. It hurt when Nat died. It wrecked me when Tony died. Cap’s arc was so bittersweet. I’m thrilled he got his happy ending but I already miss him so much.

Funny you mention Lord of the Rings considering the final battle in this movie.

I completely agree. I feel blessed to have been a part of both generational experiences. I can’t wait for whatever they have planned for phase IV!

Evans is gonna be the one that’s most sorely missed....I’ll put myself down for that prediction.

Downey is a huge part of this...but the reality is the Ironman movies aren’t nearly as good as the 3 Cap movies...and there was way more upside to keeping a 35 year old Evans rather than a 55 year old Downey.

Both suck to be gone

I got addicted to Marvel because of Iron Man. I totally respect at his age hanging the suit up, He did not want to stay too long (Johnny Depp) Going out on top, this way. I loved PotC but Depp lost it so much, as it continued. The magic was gone. Cap’s ending was so sweet though. Tony’s was in that he did have Morgan, too though.

You’re talking about “JSS” - jack sparrow syndrome ...which is why I believe we had an endgame and character rollover.

Downey was getting $50...Harrison Ford got $25 + percentage to order Kathy Kennedy to kill himself.

By axing Depp - they’re estimating that Disney is saving over $90 mil in salary and accommodations for the next pirates.

It’s a financial game...but it also refocuses a movie studio about becoming stale.

Yeah I love his take on Cap and I’m hoping this is all just a stunt so that Captain America IV can come out in a few years and make like Five billion dollars. There is always a way to bring him back... i doubt it will happen but I’m Gonna hold onto that hope anyway. I love RDJ’s Iron Man too. He really was Iron Man. Breaks my heart this ride is over.

Without Depp they should just stop and not continue.

Bs aside...isn’t this entirely dependent on how captain marvel, Spider-Man and black panther do from now on??

Totally agree, as much as it hurt to lose Iron Man, after seeing it, I got it.

Pirates to me has run it’s course tho. It wasn’t the caliber of movies, (besides the first, maybe) that Marvel created.
