Avengers Endgame Spoiler Discussion

it's not out of the realm of possibility that he knew it would be there based on his prior research. He just didn't need the info until that moment.
Exactly. It's safe to say that Tony was smart enough to put 2 and 2 together. Things he heard growing up, things he learned from his dads research and things he learned from being with shield and the avengers. I kind of took. it as, the light poped on and he said, that's it. I know what we need to do.

(Sorry if someone already mentioned this -- I didn't read all the subsequent discussion). FWIW, the fact that Captain America is worthy to wield it wasn't invented by the creators of the movie: it comes straight out of the comic books.

To see it on screen though 😍

My second showing was more reserved than the first but even then the theater still erupted in applause.

It would be nice but I'm not buying it. I fully expect the 2nd week to take a 60% minimum drop from the opening. Endgame was just soooo front-loaded; people HAD to see it when it opened. I went Thursday and Saturday nights myself. Avatar had impressive holds week after week because word of mouth painted it as an immersive 3D event that had to be seen to be believed (story issues notwithstanding). Don't think Endgame will have those kind of legs.

It depends on what happens this week. If it can get to $2Bil by the end of next weekend then it has a chance. If not, nope.

That being said, I really REALLY want it to.

I tend to think it won't, but hoping it does. If it does not, could one say no movie will ever get there (even with inflation). It's hard to imagine a bigger movie event happening, and I even wonder if the box office can even carry the same weight it once was (consider the 2019 box office even after this weekend is 11% behind the pace of last year, and the worst since 2015 despite the biggest movie opening ever)

For what it's worth, I'm out of town, and the guy I'm with hasn't been yet. Since he is dying to go and I really want to see it a second time, we are going tonight. There are only a handful of single seats available in our showing and the showing after.

It has been two days since I saw this movie and I am still not over Tony's ending.

I’ve watched Cap 14 times...the lakeside is just perfect.

I hope this comes true!!

Don’t know...it will beat The Farce Awakens (which coulda taken a lot of lessons on how to write a character...)...but avatar is still hard. I think it may sputter.
Deserves every penny.

Indeed

It’s not gonna go down in screens for a couple of weeks. But if you drop it to 60% (40%) in week 2 and then 50% (50%) in week 3???

You are at 2.3 billion worldwide. Are those goals reasonable?

Saw it Saturday night with the best audience I have ever been in and I was at the Force Awakens Premiere party at Disney Springs. People were laughing, cheering, and crying with abandon. It was movie bliss. When Cap wielded the hammer it was so loud around me that it was like being at a football stadium. People went berserk! Of course this could have been all in my head as I am so in love with this movie but the audience was as perfect as I can imagine. Went with 18 friends from church and the experience will be something I never forget. I loved every second of the movie and I take my hat off to what Marvel has accomplished. They deserve every bit of the bazillions of dollars they will make on this jewel of a movie.

I heard something similar to this all day today.

...so what you’re saying is: it’s good even though it isn’t as millennial friendly as ragnarok??

🤪...I’m kidding - sort of.

I walked out of 7 saying “I liked it...I really liked it....gonna see it tomorrow though...”

I done almost cried ugly old man tears after endgame...a complete rush of relief...no words.

I think there’s a lesson there.

I just thought of something from your story which is the same as mine.

This is pretty much the same thing future generations will hear about just like how mine hears the stories of when people saw A New Hope when it first came out.
