Avengers Endgame Spoiler Discussion

I just thought of something...

When going back in time why not just go back to before Thanos destroyed the stones and take him on for all 6? They already knew he was weakened from doing the snap. Then when they go to the present to snap everyone back and then return the stones to the past the Avengers of that alternate reality will have an extremely easy time of bringing their own people back because they’ll show up to an already dead Thanos and the stones just sitting there.

MOVIE LOGIC!!! :angelic:

When they go back to replace the stones in the timeline before Thanos destroys the stone (the past can't be changed) he could use the Time Stone to jump further into the future and undo the unsnappening, or, as he threatened, to keep people from undoing the snap, destroy the universe to start over.

They’d go back to the same reality where they killed him just like how Cap went back to the same exact ones where they took the stones in the actual movie.

They wouldn’t be changing their own timeline. They’d just go get the stones from a different reality before Thanos destroys them in that reality, go to theirs to snap everyone back, return them next to Thanos’s dead body in the alternate reality, then go back home.

I’m using the same logic that the movie uses.

I’m gonna make a slightly unpopular declaration here: Iron Man’s death did nothing for me. It was well handled, but all the reports (and the audible sniffling in my theatre) made me think it was completely in a lonely corner on this one.

Now, Captain America’s ending? Different story. That was handled beautifully.

I didn’t cry either but I did get a bit choked up. Maybe I would’ve if I wasn’t spoiled on it.

I watched Iron Man again last night, and the whole Tony Stark has a heart, hit so hard. Again, Iron Man girl- my worst fear going into IW and this one was a Tony Stark death. That, I still give it A+, and want to see it again, and again, says a lot. ( I swore I would be done, if they killed him off, I am not) Leaving for a few days at the World, then the beach and planned on Wednesday to see it again. Probably not gonna happen, because I have so much packing left to do. There are only like one seat left, here and there, in any showings for tomorrow at any theater anywhere near us, tomorrow. Insanity! I am so happy this movie is doing so well. Stinks I will have to wait so long to see it again though.

Well, the soul to me is Cap. He what the Avengers try to be ideally. The heart is Tony. He is who they are flawed individuals trying to do the right thing. Even in the move it blatantly tells you Tony is the heart because we see the proof that he has one.
When I said heart and soul, I wasn’t specifically using heart and soul as metrics. Kind of like sex, drugs, and rock & roll aren’t really about sex, drugs, and rock & roll.

I get what you were trying to say. Cap wasn’t really all that felt until Winter Soldier and I loved The First Avenger. It’s always been Tony’s journey. It began and ended with him.

I don’t disagree with much of this, and my opinion largely probably stems from the fact that I view Stark much more of a lone soldier (to an extent), while I think Cap is the glue that holds this whole mess of clashing personalities together.
