A bit of a minor criticism, because there is enough ridiculousness in this to mostly shrug it off, but this film was pretty heavy on fortunate coincidences.

A rat just so happens to step on the button that opens the quantum tunnel, setting in mostly the resolution to the whole film.

Captain Marvel only shows up whenever the plot needs her to do something. I complained about her character basically being a cheat code to solve unsolvable problems, and frankly, it’s magnified in this film. She suddenly shows up to save Iron Man and Nebula. She suddenly shows up at the end to destroy Thanos’s ship. And that’s mostly it.

Giving Tony Stark a child was another example of. This one doesn’t bother me too much, but it a convenient plot device to give Stark an emotional hook and vested interest in the final war.

Generally, these are just a few nitpicks, but they caught my attention throughout the film.

The rat one is pretty egregious, though.

Well... a rat did that somewhere in up to a 5yr time window :)

And yes.. as I said before Captain Marvel writing problems were just magnified even worse in this film. The last film I was willing to roll with it... but how they worked her in this film was just egregious and awful

Notice... I didn't say Disney made the choice to hire RDJ? :)

Point being that they chose to weave this MCU around him.. including making him the climax of what will likely be called the most successful movie franchise in history.

When he was hired.. the MCU as we know it now was only a wet dream...
I will be rather surprised if RDJ isn't named a Disney Legend at this year's D23 Expo. Seems like the kind of acknowledgement that Disney likes to give (and RDJ likes to get). It's the perfect way for Disney to thank him for his supporting work in The gy Dog.

I saw it and thought it was...ok. I much preferred the first half, as much of this one was way too predictable once it got rolling. I was surprised at how wonky a lot of the special effects looked considering what a great job they did with Thanos' face last year- both Thor's fat suit and the Hulk's talking face looked just awful by comparison and really took me out of the story.

Nerdy-question- can someone explain to me how the time travel situation with Spiderman works? He's brought back from the dead to 2023(?) as if he'd never left, but then he's fighting with the other Avengers in the big battle in the future? But then he greets one of his high school buddies but they're not in college yet? Or did ALL the Avengers travel back in time after Hulk snapped his fingers and the big battle is taking place in 2018?

I guess with these sorts of movies you're not supposed to worry about details like that, but then I just worry about Chris Hemsworth's fake-looking fatsuit.

The only way his high school buddies would still be the same is if they died in the snap just like Peter...so everyone would come back the way they were 5 years earlier. That's what I assume.

So did ALL of Spiderman's classmates get dusted and now are re-enrolled in 10th grade, or whatever? Because they're all back in the trailer of his next movie like nothing happened.

we don't know what Ned has been up to since parker has been gone. He could have been wiped out himself.. or he could have been living in a distopian society :)

Marvel doesnt really upset me. I think the explanation of her being our helping other planets works for me. If shes on another planet, and all of a sudden all the people return, i would think her first thought would be the avengers did something. So she heads back to see what happened, and essentially walks right into an epic battle. The Tony/nebula thing could be a bit of luck, but I'm ok with the rest.

I know it's early, but I think I'll be pretty disappointed if this movie doesn't get a best picture nod. In reality it should win just for the fact that it would reward the complete MCU for the historic vision that was 11years and 22 movies. Also the movie is just awesome!

I'm with you and would love that! But in reality I highly doubt the academy will recognize it for a best picture. Should get a nod for sound or maybe cinematography, something like that.

Infinity War should’ve gotten one too.

The final battle alone is worth Cinematography.

I just thought of something...

When going back in time why not just go back to before Thanos destroyed the stones and take him on for all 6? They already knew he was weakened from doing the snap. Then when they go to the present to snap everyone back and then return the stones to the past the Avengers of that alternate reality will have an extremely easy time of bringing their own people back because they’ll show up to an already dead Thanos and the stones just sitting there.

MOVIE LOGIC!!! :angelic:
