I never once used the word "roasted"
Cruella did not do "just fine" and got roasted in reviews.

Then there's no reliable source to know what the critical evaluation of the movie was... unless you're reading 200 hundred reviews and giving a fair account of their general trends to be able to say Cruella was roasted in reviews.
what is on rotten tomatoes I would not count as "reviews" since any joe blow can leave a comment and it goes towards the movie's score.

Any "joe" can write a review for any media and be counted as "a critic."

If several hundred thousand people registering their likes and dislikes is meaningless, then so are the critical reviews which you rely on to be dismissive of Cruella for being, and I quote, "roasted." You appeal to authority and you appeal to the masses at whim, which ever suits the massive dump you decide to take on every new Disney show, over and over again in the same threads as if we didn't read it the first time and it's our fault for not grabbing our pitchforks and torches and following you to burn Disney down.

there are critics "chris stuckman" and then there are CRITICS: Roger Ebert, Gene Siskel, Leonard Maltin, ex. See the difference?

We saw Black Widow in the theater. I can justify spending the money to go to see a movie in theaters, but I can't ever imagine spending $30 to watch it at home.
I looked at the options - $22 for the ticket plus gas $ to see it once in a theater with people talking, coughing and sneezing, walking back and forth and having their bright phones on in the dark theater and having to sit through a bunch of commercials and trailers for films I don't want to see... or $30 to stay home and enjoy watching it as often as I want for the next few months at my own leisure without distractions. I could justify spending it at home but not in theaters. :)

Well you are certainly entitled to your opinion. And yes D+ does count because its still money spent during opening weekend by people who would have otherwise gone to the theaters or not seen it until later. We're in a new era of media consumption with streaming, the BO is not the only money a movie makes opening weekend anymore.

As for Shang-Chi and Eternal, you claimed Cruella was going to bomb also and its done just fine. So I think your barometer on predicting whether a movie will bomb is just a bit off.

Agreed but more … Disney+ money actually means more specifically to Disney because it’s 100% their money, rather than splitting box office dollars with the theaters.

I thought the movie was very good. I watch all of the Marvel movies/shows, like them all pretty much, but I'm not like an AVID fan or anything. I have to pause to have my son explain things to me sometimes. I'm just not interested in devoting my life to learning all there is to learn about all the characters and such, hahaha. I knew little about the story line going in, but was pleasantly surprised and thought it was a great "ending" to the character.
I have 9 kids. Boom! The savings of streaming!

So, the final numbers are 80 million in the US and 79 million overseas. Plus for the first time Disney has released premier access numbers. 2 million buys for a total of 60 million. So a total of 219 million opening weekend. I'd say the mcu is doing just fine.
and Disney keeps every cent of those $60million from Disney+

I have a feeling that the streaming premier+ might continue with some future movies

same here I just do not see myself spending $30 to see a movie like this at home. Even with a good sound system and quite large TV some of these movie are meant to be seen in a theater in my opinion.

and now a days with programs like the AMC premier stubs program that lets you see 3 movies a week on any format including Dolby digital, Imax and others for less than $25 a month. Even if I only saw 2 movies a month the experience is so much better.
