Something of a more ambitious scale wouldn’t be a risk though. Like SWL it would have people beyond excited. I’d argue the current plan is them taking a risk of letting people down.
SWL has it's detractors. This forum is practically buzzing with those excited to be unhappy with the final result.

I can't read French, so I'm not sure. Is there anything in there that sets this ride apart from Midway Mania? If not, man this along with Ant-Man and the Wasp are such dissappointments.

Wasn't Joe Rohde one of the people in charge of putting Marvel into the parks?

Lol why do I feel like you are lumping me in with those excited to be unhappy about the final result. Trust me, I really want them to do well. I have an AP and go to DLR numerous times a year. Why would I want less good things to do? Sometimes you can see the writing on the wall with certain things like I do with the Falcon ride. Like I said I think the land (and ROTR) will be great. I just think the Falcon might be a huge build up to only a mediocre ride.

As proof, look how foolishly optimistic/ hopeful I am about the Spider-Man ride.

Most people are excited as evidenced by Disney feeling the need to have reservations in Anaheim and extended hours in Orlando to handle the expected crowds.

Now imagine a land of that scale built for Marvel.

This is not setting up Disney well for the next round of theme park wars. This ride will likely be competing with USH’s Mario Kart Ride, which is likely to be very revolutionary and have the industry buzzing.

Very surprised this thing got approved, this is worse then USO greenlighting Transformers and Fast & Furious, at least those ride duplicates were built in the other park.

Facility drawings like these would not reveal anything cool.

Joe has been replaced by Scott Drake.

I wasn't signalling out you- you at least I feel will give it a shot whereas there's a whole thread about what a physical tumor it is- Oh My!
Same happened with Avatar- a land so objectionable that many asserted they would never step foot in it.

Am I wrong in thinking that Marvel is going to become super dated in a decade or two? Like Star Wars is a (relatively) timeless IP to me, but superhero movies are like the westerns of our generation and I feel like they're going to be viewed that way by older generations.
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man continues to be spectacular even after 20 years.

Yes, but let's let Pirates and Small World show how a similar system can be utilized to very different effect.
I appreciate what you're implying, but on Pirates and Small World you ride in a boat and virtually every other aspect of the rides is dissimilar. If we're reading the blueprints correctly, Spiderman will be much like "Midway Mania," taking you to a screen, pausing for you to shoot, then moving to the next screen. Of course, I hope I'm incorrect but the similarities in the case of these screen based rides are likely to be far more glaring.

I guess I should've specified, talking about the modern live-action Marvel aesthetic (which I believe this new land is based on unless I'm wrong). I agree Universal's Spider-Man is great but that seems more rooted in the original comic adaptation.
Its aesthetic is rooted in the 1994 Saturday morning cartoon.

Yes, I think our grandkids are going to have a hard time believing that what people did in their free time was constantly speculate about the MCU and watch those movies.

I’ve never been to AK but it looks like Pandora was a great addition. As far as SWL I do wish it was placed at DCA or a third park but once the decision was made I just began to hope for the best. It also helps that the land is going to be quality and nothing like the recent DCA additions/ overlays.

I wish too, but it doesn't thematically belong in DCA either. Only a third park would work.

On the other hand, does Marvel even belong in a theme park thematically relating to California?
