Iron Man Experience at HKDL is better than Star Tours and a perfectly great D Ticket. While I would have preferred something with a new ride system, for the constraints they were given the ride nails it. It's a lot of fun. Once HKDL completes their Avengers E, they'll have an incredible Marvel lineup.

Agreed. I was actually surprised just how much I liked the Iron Man ride. I just love that it's the first ride there that truly connects to the park. And I'm sure people know watching the film on YT vs being on the actual ride are two different things. I rode it three times and every time I got off it was clearly a hit with people. And most probably haven't experienced a simulator ride at this level (if they only been to HKDL) most of us has taken for granted for decades now.

Yes I'm aware of what you said and even agreed with you, I was just pointing out a specific fact about Stark Tower.

It's possible that some of the characters like Captain America (not a spoiler, just postulating) aren't going to make it out of Avengers 4 alive, which would imply an attraction based on, say, the Steve Rogers version of good ol' Cap would have to take place before the events of future films. I dunno, maybe you go into that Cap Museum celebrating him as seen in Winter Soldier, and the attraction is housed there, which would free the attraction designers up from being tied down to story beats in films yet to be released or made.

True, but I think if they’re going to continue to use the MCU as the jumping off point then they’ll likely use specific stories that aren’t tied to a specific movie story-arc. Basically think of the Marvel Theme Park Universe (MTPU), actual Disney term, as separate but inspired directly by the MCU.

I’m betting all characters will survive. If any doesn’t, it just means they haven’t gotten around to feature them and eventually a new movie will revive them. No Marvel characters stay dead.

Sincere question because I don't know -- are the Marvel Characters licensed to Universal exclusive to Universal Orlando, meaning, is Universal Hollywood allowed to use the characters? Or is it strictly a Universal Orlando agreement?

Tony Stark's parents. :(

At least, so far...we'll see what happens in Avengers 4. My wife hated the ending of Avengers: Infinity War, I re-assured her everything was going to be okay, that despite what she just watched, Spider-Man: Far From Home is next summer, Black Panther 2 is in prep, etc. Still, I figure one of the big leads is going to go down...(spoiler)
and I know it isn't Tony because Tony's in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which leads me to suspect Cap is going to be Cap, and take one for the team.

How the contract is worded limits Universal to their specific set of characters (and character families ie teams) to Orlando today. This is because Universal failed to execute beyond Orlando within the first 2 years of the contract.

If you're really curious, or just an uber nerd like some of us, you can read the contract yourself here:

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1262449/000119312510008732/dex1057.htm

Section 4 describes the exclusivity of Marvel in theme parks.

LOL, no, I'll take your word for it. I'm not an Uber-Nerd, more like a Lesser Nerd.

And Peter Parker’s uncle or Bruce Wayne’s parents (different company). Captain America is likely to go down if only because Chris Evans doesn’t want to do it anymore. So he will be rebooted with someone else from another frozen deep sleep.

Is RDJ actually confirmed to be in SM:FFH? Last I checked there was no confirmation on that.
Also personally I think Cap will just step down instead of being killed. And Tony will go into an advisory role to the next Avengers line-up which will now include Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

Both Winter Soldier and Falcon have taken up Cap's shield in the comics at times so they wouldn't even have to unthaw someone

Scott Summers also takes up the shield at one point in the Ultimate Marvel series. That could be one of the many ways to introduce X-Men into the MCU.

Not sure of the exact wording but it's east of the Mississippi as a designation. I always thought it would make sense for Disney to build something Marvel related right on the west bank somewhere. We all know that wouldn't happen but I can dream...especially since it would be closer to me.

Because of weather, and other factors, the only place I can see Disney building a new Disneland Park in America would be Central-to-South Texas, and even then, the only place that would be a good fit would be San Antonio...problem is, San Antonio doesn't have an airport adequate for the job, and Disney ain't gonna pay for an airport. Seeing as how San Antonio recently told Amazon to go pound sand when they delivered their list of demands to the City, I don't see them in a big hurry to land Disneyland, Texas. Everything north of Waco is pretty much disqualified due to winter, to say nothing of tornadoes. Meanwhile, as we've seen recently, Houston is vulnerable to flooding. The only place that makes sense is South Central Texas, i.e. San Antonio, but S.A. doesn't have the infrastructure for it, and they're in no hurry to pay for it, even for something as transformational and prestigious as a third Disney Park in America.

More spoilers, although rumor is more like it...

Peter allegedly gets a new suit from Tony in Spider-Man:FFH

Anyway, is it true RDJ's contract is up after Avengers 4? I never take any entertainment news in the UK Guardian seriously, but they ran some click-bait about Downey, saying Avengers 4 is his last. I've read the same thing about Chris Evans as Cap. Who knows, maybe they both die like Scott Glen and Kurt Russell in Backdraft :p

Oh...

I've also read pure conjecture that Avengers 4 is going to end with Tony and Pepper's wedding, because allegedly there's a tweet stating there's a scene where *everyone* is present. A scene with everyone present is possible, doesn't mean it's Tony's wedding. Could be *quite* the opposite, if you know what I mean. If Pepper was trying to tell Tony she was pregnant in the garbled transmission in Infinty War, and the film ends with Tony's funeral with Pepper holding their child, they're going to need to hire extra help to mop up the tears in theaters.

SWGE is going to feel a lot like NOS. That's a very good thing!

Marvel land tho - there's just nothing to work with. The films don't have environments that would lend themselves to what a Marvel land needs to include and apparently no one at WDI could come up with something better.

I agree with this 100%. The lack of enthusiasm for the Marvel brand is evident in every arm of Disney, especially in theme parks and consumer products. As a big fan of the property, it's been this way since they bought the brand.

The real problem is that Marvel Studios is only 10 years old. Nobody at WDI has a "nostalgia" for Marvel Studios, like they do for classic Disney or Star Wars, that made them want to go work at WDI. It's probably going to be another 10-15 years before you see the people who have been impacted by the MCU find footing in the major divisons of Disney and start pushing out passion projects. I'm sure the 20 year anniversary of the MCU is going to be a big deal at the company. Until then, I don't expect much.

Oh my gosh there are so many things wrong with these statements I can feel my blood pressure rising just trying to figure out where to start.

You gotta stop talking about this stuff like you have any idea what you're saying. These are not matters of opinion.

Ok, so educate me then since you insinuate you're more knowledgeable on the topic. I'm willing to learn if my assessment is incorrect.

Also the statement you quoted was my opinion on the subject, not fact. So it is a matter of opinion.
