I've become a recent mobile checkout convert ever since they used it for the Expo shops (it really is so easy to use, and because so few people use it you're in and out very fast after checking in at a kiosk), but I heavily dislike the recent trend to close registers to try to force more folks to use mobile checkout.

My mobile order experience from last Tuesday/Wednesday:

Tuesday
Lunch: We had reservations at Carnation Cafe, so no mobile order.
Dinner: Red Rose Tavern. Got there around 6:15pm. The order times were immediate. Both my parents and I got our food within 2 minutes of ordering. The dining room was fairly packed.

Wednesday
Lunch: Ate at Lucky Fortune in DCA. The mobile app didn't have the Teriyaki Chicken on it for some reason, so we waited in line which only had 1 person in it. Had out food about 30 seconds after ordering. They had the dish, but for some reason it wasn't on the app. The app had time from Now-(half hour out).
Dinner: Jolly Holiday in DL. Pretty busy and found one open table (thankfully no parades right now). I opened my app and the wait times were Now-(half hour out) so I started my order. My dad opened his app about a minute later and the time for his wait was a half-hour out, so he and my mom ordered with me and we had our food in under 2 minutes. I think we had really just beat the rush.

I was going to use it for Blue Milk, but there was no line.

I think places like Pym's is still new for a lot of non-frequent visitors, so it doesn't surprise me that it was an hour out. Avengers Campus was busy when I was there. In fact, the parks as a whole were pretty crowded, so light crowds wasn't the reason why my orders were so quick. Maybe I'm just lucky, but we tried to eat 30 minutes before or after the noon/6pm times.

They should just install the self checkouts they have at Uniqlo. The easiest shopping experience I've had. You put your basket of clothes in the holder, all clothes are instantly added to the cart, no scanning needed. You pay, you leave.

So easy.

I forgot to ask how was the Po’ Boy? I got one a few years back and thought it was just ok. I might give it another try.
I thought it was pretty decent for a theme park Po’ Boy. I’ve had better, of course. I kinda regretted not getting the jambalaya, but I liked my sandwich. I wasn’t hungry enough for my favorite, Plaza Inn, and getting a corn dog would have forced me to wait an hour for it (UGH). I wasn’t hungry enough for Rancho del Zocalo, plus I figured I could get better Mexican food the next day, if I wanted.

If anything, I’m glad we have the buffeteria options like Plaza, French Market, and Rancho available to us. It’s “real” food, not typical burgers and chicken tendies, and you don’t need to mobile order to eat.

Yeah DLs food is pretty solid for a theme park. I’m going to give that Po boy another shot. I could use a new food item in the mix. I’ve never tried the Jambalaya but that sounds good. In regards to corn dogs I’m glad to report that on my 10/9 trip they were as good as ever. I had one a few weeks before that that was cold, stale and nasty.

With the massive failure of Secret Invasion, 3 of the last 20 official MCU projects now have rotten scores on RT. That's 3 more than the first 22 MCU projects up to and including Endgame. So the question, is the MCU on the decline? The answer is clearly yes, proving once again that Avengers Campus was a massive mistake.

I would def argue against that, but we all have opinions.

One day I hope that DCA can return the way it should be. Go back to tower of terror. Retheme the marvel buildings to a California theme. Could be glorious.

I think Avengers Campus as built was a mistake. I don’t think Avengers Campus (in concept) was a mistake.

The subpar Spidy ride and lack of a big E-Ticket is a loss for sure.
I consider Gaurdians Tower a pretty big and very good E-ticket though I get that it was opened before AC, its still part of AC regardless. When they eventually build the major headliner the land will have 2 e-tickets and a c-ticket darkride, along with various food and shops and tons of characters and shows...pretty solid land imo

Avengers reminds me of Galaxy’s Edge before Rise opened, the Falcon ride wasn’t good enough to carry the whole land (although it’s a good secondary ride) and Webslingers isn’t good enough to carry the campus (although it’s a good secondary ride).

Avengers needs its e-ticket just as badly as Galaxy’s edge did.

(I know guardians is technically part of Avengers campus but it’s never felt like it is to me)

I agree if this was about a decade ago. Disney bought Marvel in 2009 and waited until 2021 to open a land for the characters. They missed their opportunity. Marvel land should have been announced immediately after the success of The Avengers in 2012 and should have been completed in time for Age of Ultron. Even this pathetic incarnation of Avengers Campus would have been well received back then due to the massive amount of love for the MCU in the 2010's. But now? Marvel as a brand is dying and the theme park land is viewed as a blight on what was once a promising California Adventure.

Surprised the kid with an impromptu trip to the DLR this weekend. Here's my family's impressions of Avengers Campus:

Overall: "It's hot. Where's the shade?" "This feels more like Six Flags than Disney." "Is there anything else to do besides the Spiderman ride?" (I did explain that Guardians was part of the land too and got a shrug. I guess because it was already there, so didn't feel like part of the land? I don't know...)
WebSlingers: "Fun, but not worth a very long wait." "Better than the Ninjago ride at LegoLand."
Spiderman robot: "Cool!"
Guardians: "Super fun"
Dance Off: "silly, but fun"
Characters present: Spiderman, Dr. Strange, and a glimpse of Nick Fury as he was leaving.

I'm glad others enjoy this land, but it really didn't do much for us. To be fair, we aren't huge Marvel fans, so maybe we just don't "get it".

Whatever the proposed "phase 2" ride is, I really do hope it gets added. Not only would it fill out the area of the land that feels like empty concrete, but the park needs all the capacity it can get.

The two rumors I’d heard where either a marvel themed Flight of Passage style ride or a Tron style coaster themed to Captain America, add either one of those to Avengers Campus and the entire perception of the land changes overnight.

Agreed. The addition of MMRR did that for ToonTown for my family. PLEASE DISNEY, no more screen rides (They make me sick)! Here's hoping for a non-spinning coaster. This has probably already been answered somewhere, but would a coaster fit back there?

While I'm sure you're right for the general public, building an unthemed coaster would make the land significantly worse for me (if it's a TRON clone any theming is going to be minimal). While I think Cosmic Rewind was a big misfire from a theming standpoint, at least they tried to do something with it.

The Flight of Passage style ride never seemed like a good idea to me either, but that would at least offer something more.
