Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

I have to agree, I was 11 when Bugs Land opened and was beyond its target audience. But it was a kids land based on a kids movie. No promises of immersion or becoming your own inner bug. Meanwhile I hear endless radio ads about being a recruit to train to be a super hero at avengers campus.

If Disney wants to go cheap it's fine, but dont pretend a clone of a 5 year old lego land ride is "immersion".
The endless “recruit” spiels for Avengers Community College are ghastly. Trying to be something it’s not, once again. Recruits for what, exactly? Just stop.

That's a weird new thing Disney's been doing that I hope they back away from soon. Both Galaxy's Edge and Avengers Campus are supposedly all about being recruits and joining up as part of a whole experience except that there's really not much to it and it's just annoying. I just want to explore the themed environment you built.

They could have made something that adults and kids enjoy. Which was kind of the purpose of Disneyland. They could also make it look more inspiring which wouldn’t stop anyone from enjoying it.

In the 70s they built a beautiful facade for Space Mountain. Today it would be in a huge blue box and they would theme it to be a “NASA testing facility” in a warehouse.

Imagineering takes themselves way too seriously in all of the wrong ways (see that recent Tiana interview and everything built in the last 10 years).

Much of the way Disneyland was designed would never get done today- the Matterhorn being right next to the Monorail and submarines and the castle, or the Pirate facade with boats just randomly in the building.

Agreed. Speaking of Tiana, I just read we re going to be ACTIVE participants on the ride. 😞 I can hear Louis now. “Cmon guys, New Orleans is just around the bend.” “Help me get to Mardi Gras” by riding in that log and doing absolutely nothing.

That's funny because I saw this on Twitter today, if Space Mountain were built today...

lol Disney isnt that bad with showbuildings are they?

You can see the backside of Rat from the skyliner and I would like to see that themed as would many others but that views from outside the park at least

The GotG building is easy to see from inside epcot but its the biggest building disneys ever built and I think if they themed is with a xandarian facade it would stick out even more, so its kind of a lose/lose imo. But I dont think for as massive as the building is, it sticks out as bad as it could. Also Im thinking this ride will be truly amazing so I am willing to let it slide...assuming the ride is really really good

Tron, im still waiting to see how that comes together as theres lots of work left to do

MMRR in DL, Im assuming will have a toon town sky facade, waiting to see what they do

what other show buildings can you see from inside the park?

The Tron building is finished; they aren't doing anything else to it other than finishing the canopy (which already has a skeleton frame so you know exactly where it will be).
they still have a lot more to do, the smaller building, the canopy, the railroad....and only after all that is done can they do landscaping. maybe they will add some trees and a berm between the barnstormer path and the tron building? I dont know yet.

This is a very apt analogy.

The GotG building is there to distract us from the stargate and tacos in the lagoon during the day!

The structure for the canopy and the small building are both in place, they’re not going to magically get a lot bigger. They’re not going to build a berm or plant trees, and that is known no matter how much people want to ignore the pond.

Yeah, when I heard that in the video I was stunned. They really don't understand experiential storytelling and what makes Splash Mountain such a great ride.

I have a strong feeling that the join us recruits! and the IP trends present in seemingly every new ride will go away in the next 5 to 10 years and will horribly date most of the rides that came out today. It kind of works in Smuggler's Run (that ride does have other issues though), but it will date Rise of the Resistance, Tiana's ride, Webslingers, etc.

Well I'm on my last day at Dl and I experienced avengers campus for the first time yesterday. I was with a group of 4 ranging in age from 12-36. We all loved the ride and wish we could've rode it again. Two out of the four bought the spidey blasters. The food from pym's was a hit as was the theming. We had the chicken sandwich, pb&j and the Pima dolce. The stunt shows were all great. The stuntronic was the highlight tho. Missed Dr stranges show but the area was nice to look at. Saw multiple characters up close and personal. Was told to make way for my king when I was accidentally blocking Tchalla lol.
I liked the look of the land during the day, but at night I loved it. It really gained something from the lighting packages.
Overall as a huge marvel fan I was happy, though I do want to see the avengers e ticket built to complete the land.
