I understand that they just don't appeal to you, YMMV. Disney can and still does make very impressive large scale attractions that have physical sets and AAs. I know that DLR hasn't gotten one in a long time. But that is because there is limited space. Maybe when the rumored FL expansion or TL redo comes about you'll get your large scale attraction with all the physical set and AAs. However with the limited space left I just don't see very many of those projects happening.

I know that SW:GE is one of your least favorite projects in the history of all Disney projects, but I have a feeling Battle Escape is going to be very impressive.
And also hates Marvel coming to DCA.

If you want an example of a ride with screens and interactive elements at it's worst. MotionGate Dubai has a Ghostbusters ride which is a poor man's Men and Black and very cheap looking.

But wait, this is a trackless ride so doesn't that make it great?

The pendulum system looks insanely similar to Forbidden Journey... if the attraction was an omnimover like Potter, a 4 seater ride vehicle wouldn't be an issue with capacity... The idea was scrapped way too soon... sucks that this attraction has been dumbed down to a shooter..
The thing is, there was never any evidence Disney planned to use the pendulum ride system for DCA's spiderman ride. It's all been fan speculation.

I like this comment. All these Dubai rides seem to follow the same formula. Buy an expensive ride system and surround it with ****. They have money but no talent. That seems very true. Why are the screens in the Ghostbusters ride so small? Why is there no projection effects or anything happening in the Hotel Transylvania ride?
Probably the closest Motiongate Dubai can get with an actually decent ride is How To Train Your Dragon and Shrek.

Most of the rides at Motiongate are static with The Smurfs ride being the most infamous.

The Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball water ride is so empty, quiet and lifeless.

The Shrek dark ride is actually impressive, was a shock after doing the other dark rides in the park. I think Motiongate suffered from big ambition, poor management and a lack of a decent budget. The new Warner Bros. park out in Abu Dhabi has some impressive dark rides and feels closer to the quality found in Disney and Universal. I think the difference being that Warner Bros put together a team of great designers at Thinkwell to create a decent park. They actually spent close to 10 years planning and building that place.

The meatballs raft ride has no rapids in it. It's just a ride down a stream pass some huge food props with no plants. Even the boarding building is unthemed. It's like Heimlich the boat ride.

I came to this thread to see what people were saying about the Spiderman ride....and I found a screen debate, fun!

Screens when used properly are great, screens when used improperly are bad.

Flight of Passage would be impossible to re-create without screens.

Shanghai POTC would be impossible to re-create without screens, but they also integrate a lot of set pieces to make the overall much more believable. (also, if you're not planning to visit Shanghai, at LEAST watch the quality youtube videos of it, I think you'll be impressed)

Wow, those rides are really, really dumb. Also bad. And pointless. Did we already say dumb?

Remember a decade or so ago when the theme park industry was buzzing about Dubai and Dubailand and how it was going to blow Disneyland and Disney World out of the water and make the old American parks extinct? And that's what Dubailand came up with?

Dubailand!... where you can ride really dumb rides, pay money to a government that oppresses women and executes gays and casual adulterers, and then pretend everything is fine. Hey, at least there aren't any lines! Dubailand!

Even the character costumes for the characters (Mainly the Looney Tunes) seen at Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi looked more expressive compared to their designs at Six Flags.

Doesn't help that Six Flags currently still runs the two Looney Tunes stage shows longer than any other theme park.

"We Got The Beat" has been running since 2004, while "Looney Tunes Kids Club" has been around for 21 years.

I will give Six Flags credit for the former 1993 Looney Tunes stage show "Toonite Show" at Six Flags Great America. At least they actually put effort in that show despite having a limited budget. The Toonite Show is 29 minutes long compared to their usual 17 or 15 minutes of music and awkward dancing in other Looney Tunes shows at the other Six Flags parks.

Then again the Looney Tunes costumes seen at Six Flags and Warner Bros Movie World are developed by Scollon Productions (Who also designed the character costumes for Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon). Lola Bunny always looked the most off.

IMG World Of Adventure is worse, the Amazing World of Gumball and Adventure Time rides are even worse. I'm sure these two rides based on currently popular Cartoon Network shows are way past your time. But my goodness is it bad. Now that I think about it, what is with the majority of rides at Dubai and static figures?
