Actually I went and looked after I posted that and I realize they haven't even started lol. But it's still confirmed to open in 2023 so maybe it will start this year?

2023 was the original proposed timeline, but the funding approval from the government dragged on quite a bit longer and subsequently pushed all projects by a year from that timeframe. With the Pandemic I'm personally not expecting the ride until 2025.

How often does Disney announce that a project is cancelled?

They don’t think long term at all. That’s why there can be such wild swings in priorities.

Absolutely. Not to distract from your point but the E-ticket in HK is the one thing that would technically be disclosed, thanks to its co-funding.

They had the actors of Harry Potter visit the land. They had the actors of Avatar visit Pandora land. They had the OG Trilogy actors of Star Wars during the opening.

I’m guessing people from the Disney+ shows and Tom Holland. So likely Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan. Maybe a few of the side characters or Guardians actors in there as well. I’d be shocked if they managed to get someone like Chris Evans or RDJ to appear considering the current focus has been on those shows.
