Definitely helps. I factored that in. That’s why I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be 2-3 AAs between the ride and the pre show. What I’m concerned about is that we don’t have many examples of this or similar ride systems with many or any AA’s. Spider-Man, Transformers and Peter Pan. So I think there is something there that doesn’t make these attractions AA friendly. I think these rides are so screen focused that throwing in the physical AAs actually hurt more than help the ride experience as they make what’s happening on screen less “real” in comparison. It can be done but execution needs to be great.
The Jurassic World ride in Beijing is a great example of how it can be done but it’s not as screen focused as the other rides I mentioned and was designed around having large dinosaur AAs. Also the show building for Avengers doesn’t look all that large now that they re sharing the space with the flat ride. I feel like if they were going for a ride with larger sets and show pieces they wouldn’t have found a way to cram that flat ride in there. I’m hopeful and cautiously optimistic for 2-3 AA’s but also would not be shocked if there was only one Thanos or none at all.
The AA's and practical elements make Tough to be a Bug the best 3-D show I have experienced and also made it repeatable for me. The missile element in Stormrider at TDS was the best thing in the ride and they removed it when they made it Nemo, hurting the repeatability of the attraction.Yeah this is my main concern for the AAs in a 3d ride. Having a big dimensional figure like a Thanos AA would make the screen based components a lot less convincing. Story wise it also wouldn't make a ton of sense for us to meet the big bad villain in a pre-show environment either.
Might just be an Iron Man AA in the preshow for infinity defense and some animated props that respond to on-screen characters in the actual ride.

Practical effects and figures don't hurt the 3-D, they instead give us a reason to return once we've already seen the movie over and over.
It all comes down to execution. For example, a huge Thanos AA doesn’t have to be included in the same room as a screen focused scene.
I'd love to be wrong on this, but I'm talking specifically about the Peter Pan/Transformers/Spider-Man system. From the versions we've seen so far. The designers have chosen to make most of the action on-screen with the practical effects supporting things that happen on-screen, just like that awesome missile effect in Stormrider.
I do think we might see an AA in the closing scene like Indy, thanking us for our help, but I think Thanos would be featured in the climax/action heavy sequences. Now maybe there's a creative way to work it in - he could "capture" us and then have a scene in the middle with an AA but I'm not getting my hopes up
I think you re right not getting your hopes up but if they wanted to make it work they could. I feel like if I’m not feeling the size/ scale of Thanos as a physical figure that would be a huge let down. Imagine going on a Jurassic Park ride and all the dinosaurs were on a screen. Obviously I expect most action scenes to be on screen but there has to be a creative way to get a Thanos AA in there. Even if it’s a huge head/ torso and one arm popping out of something like the yeti in the Matterhorn
I think Jurassic World at Uni Bejing might be a good comp for how animatronics and screens can coexist for a SCOOP-style ride. While not perfect I definitely think it does an admirable job of blending both while not making the screens totally jarring. I doubt Infinity Defense will have the same amount of Animatronics as JW but even just two or three would go a long way. That Thanos concept art where he's got the sword and has the ruins behind him practically screams for a Kylo style villain face-to-face. Would be a super impressive figure just on size alone.I'd love to be wrong on this, but I'm talking specifically about the Peter Pan/Transformers/Spider-Man system.
