AVATAR land - the specifics

I think Memorial day is a EMH ...so my plan is to grab FP at the 60 day window ASAP if tiered for Flights, Kilamajaro, and Kalil (my girl is too young for Everest), We are not early get uppers but we will this day. Go ahead and get there before rope drop, get in line for the boat ride. Use FP for Flights, Safari and Kalil. If Fp are all booked between 9-12 that may free up extra FPs for some of the stuff usually not FPed. I already have a reservation for Tusker, which I am hoping can be turned into one of the dining packages for ROL. If not, I am not going to sweat ROL this trip (the preview didn't look that exciting). I am hoping this will make that day manageable.

Tiers are more for a park with major attraction priority discrepancies or a limited number of sought after FP. I cautiously want to say that while attractions will initially prove very popular, neither is such a capacity mess that people would always prioritize them. Especially with some of the height requirements for Flight of Passage.

Epcot tiers exists because there are really only three desirable fast passes. Which would basically mean a limited number of people would have a great fastpass lineup and a much larger group nothing of value at all. If/when Epcot has two more valuable/desirable FP, I think the tiers will go away.
I think that tiers in DHS could go away with the addition of Toy Story Land.

This is interesting.... Kam Demarco is described as a first generation human born in pandoa. The valley is called the valley of Mo'aa Valley. Meanwhile Lui Wei is a PSI Scientist who woks for the Pandora Conservation Initiative who shares his sense of humor to all the guests, do I hear some streetmasphere?
Any chance Lui Wei could lecture Roger Goodell on PSI?

I would not be surprised at all if they do a Tiered Faspass model much like EC where both Pandora attractions and Rivers of Light (if it's open) are Tier 1 and you can only choose 1 from that tier. The demand will outstrip supply anyway but if resort guests can just grab all 3 at 60 days out, nobody else will ever have any chance at getting them which will likely cause a GR nightmare for them.

That's not exactly how it works. Disney doesn't release all available fast passes at the 60 day mark. They hold some back for the 30 day people and also hold some back for other times. So not all will be gone at 60 days. I'm very hopeful that AK stays tier free.

I understand that aspect of things but if resort guests are able to grab one each for Flights and River the overall pool will be dramatically reduced. Since both will be immensely popular (at least at opening) they'll need to do something to manage the demand and a tiering model seems a logical and already understood approach. It increases the chances of more people getting at least 1 in Pandora vs a smaller pool getting both.

Does attendance normally dip off in the few weeks before a big opening at Disney?

I'm there May 7th until 30th, so it'll be in pure heaven if I can have a few weeks queue free

its funny that the bio on the expat on the alpha centauri site says that the culture there is so inviting. didn't the na'vi send the humans packing at the end of the movie?

Well I don't think the tourists will be blowing up their homes like the humans in the movie.... Then again all the foreign tourist chants and families with double wide strollers might make the na'vi send us back again.

Perhaps I missed it, but I haven't heard any number on height requirements for Flight of Passage - does anybody know that number yet?

I guess I shouldn't worry either way because my littlest one is nearly 48" and whatever the actual number is I doubt it would be that high.

I have heard 40" thrown around.
