AVATAR land - the specifics

His source is in his own head.

He's a fake, ignore anything he says. He is claiming to know all these details when Staggs himself admits they don't even know where the actual land will be yet. If they did, they would have announced it, because thats a simple giveaway to say 'behind Asia'.

Ya something doesn't seem to add up here. I mean I hope he's right and I hope we see some amazing concept art soon. I'm just always wary of supposed insiders that have extremely low post counts.

Just my 2 cents and, in the interest of full disclosure, I know 1 guitar player and 1 seasonal CM who works in the land pavilion.

I don't think it's that big of a deal to be able to see a part of the park from the entrance/parking lot. MK has Space Mountain, the Castle, the Train Station, etc. Epcot has SSE, DHS has the Tower of Terror and the Earful Tower (from the road), and AK has E:E. From outside the park, it's not a big deal, in fact it may even be welcomed as sort of a "balancing weenie" (do we go right to the big mountain thing or do we go left to the huge tree things). I care much more about site lines once inside the turnstiles.

Also, we may want to consider starting a fuel fund for the pilot that gives us such amazing aerial shots of the FLE!

At least half of space in that expansion pad is south of the tree line. There is nothing but grass and a thin row of trees between that tree line and the parking lot. It will be an issue.

Will it? It's not an issue for Indy at DL or Radiator Springs at DCA. With show buildings/facades and appropriate landscaping, there is definitely the ability to make an immersive land in both expansion areas at DAK.

That said, at this point it's moot anyway, since I don't think even Disney has decided the exact placement.

I think DL ditched the idea of 100% clean site lines long ago. The relatively small amount of land they have makes it nearly impossible. WDW on the other hand can still consider it given the vast space they have. I would rather see Pandora go in the back of the park and have nearly zero vertical limits while maintaining clean site lines vs going in the front of the park and having to choose between height and concealment.

Putting it in the current Camp Minnie-Mickey area balances the "weenies" out to the four quadrants.

Kilimanjaro Safaris (top left)
Everest (top right)
Dinosaur (bottom right)
Avatar (bottom left)

Plus...I'd leave the plot of land next to Asia available for expansion for animal habitats.

With that being said I will say you are a fake and I will ignore anything else you say. I have been reading your posts and practically every single one is negative.

As I have stated...my information is very limited...choose to believe me or not. But all I ask for in this forum is respect. When Pandora is announced with further details...you will see that I am correct in the following statements...

Pandora IS going behind Asia.
Rafiki's Planet Watch IS being replaced with an entrance/attraction to transport you to Pandora.

Kamikaze, I am calling you out on every little negative post you have ever written. If you don't have anything nice to say, shut down your computer! You are very rude person on this forum along with MAF. Stop hiding behind your computer to say negative remarks and appreciate information others have to share.

I'm not saying anyone has to believe me because I have to prove myself in this forum. But you could at least be respectful with what I have to say.

I still don't think Camp Minnie Mickey is a good spot at all. I think it's best to keep it tucked away near the back of the park.

I still don't understand this part. Rafiki's is very far from any of the existing walking paths in the park, thus the need to take the train. I just can't understand how that area will be used as an entrance.

Moving the train will allow them more space and I believe where the train currently is will be a "walkthrough" of Pandora (which will be the entrance).

The entrance is quite large because you are entering another world and tdo doesn't want you to just simply "walk" into pandora but travel into pandora...the train would just tighten the space needed and cause it be an uncomfortable experience.

with the train leaving, they have more opportunities to accomplish this.

I agree. Since all of the animal care areas are located north, leaving this expansion pad clear for a future expansion featuring new animals makes most sense.

Not to mention Rafiki's Planet Watch is located north of the plot behind Asia, so you would have to go all the way to where Rafiki's Planet Watch is, to come back down near Everest? Not buying it.

Wow, that itself would cost at least $400 million....

My thoughts exactly.

I think Camp Minnie-Mickey is more tucked away than any other area. The land isn't connected to any other land besides Discovery Island so it is tucked away pretty well.

No...you wont be entering pandora from where the actually building of Rafiki's Planet Watch is...you will be entering between Africa and Asia.

The train is leaving because it would cause a visual disturbance.

The buildings that house the animals in Rafiki's Planet Watch are moving and will become a walk-through attraction where you learn more in-depth about how disney takes care of injured animals.

TDO is looking to double the size of its animal hospital and conversation + affection station but locating it at another place in the park...might be moving to Camp Minnie-Mickey to give something to that location for guests to go to.

We have had people here before that post as you are posting and they turned out to be frauds so you will have to excuse people's cynacism.

That said, what you are claiming (in this thread anyway) makes sense. Adding a petting zoo type interaction to CMM makes sense. Relocating and enlarging Planet Watch makes sense. Having an elaborate walkway that begins to involve you in the story which leads to a 'portal' where you are introduced to the worlds of Avatar makes sense.

Unfortunately you posted some utter nonsense in another thread and it is possible you have been banned for it by now.

What would make me question your credibility is your claims TDO is making these decisions. I am rather dubious of that being the case. My sense is projects like this get run out of Glendale and Anaheim.

I understand completely about the lack of believability in my posts. However, I just ask for patience until they announce what "pandora" is bringing to ak.

as for your statement on tdo, glendale and anaheim...i'm not quite sure where they are constructing the land. tdo has an impact on what "pandora" will entail...but not a major one because the heavy pull cameron has on the project. basically tdo right now is the lowest of the ranks on this project (i guess the budget of the project gave that away) hahaha.

Hmmm, are you saying you are not sure if it is going by Africa or CMM? Because you seemed quite certain earlier. I agree with your reasoning but how much is rumor and how much is conjecture?

Also, and this really bothers me, you posted some nonsense in another thread or what appears to me to be nonsense. Was that just a joke? You should explain soon because if someone claims insider knowledge and then turns out to be a troll the mods will quickly delete you. I speak from experience!

Fortunately I learned my lesson and was allowed to return but it took some time.

This utter nonsense:

Well I was told....

Duffy replaces Figment in the Imagination Pavilion.

Duffy replaces the trolls on Maelstrom.

Stitch's Great Escape AAs to transfer to B-mode.

All Halloween and Christmas decorations to be displayed by a projection screen.

Oh...and a new land in Hollywood Studios with no attractions or restaurants....just a meet and greet location for Duffy, Hannah Montana and Debbie Gibson.

I'm assuming these were jokes... but not really the way you want to joke around here if you want people to take you as credible..

Agree 100% on everything here.

Looking at what WDI did at DisneySea, they shouldn't have a problem making things blend in from different angles here.
